Star Taco's in Seattle, Meg & I went there a couple years ago on a Tuesday & had exceptional tacos :) We continue this tradition at home with a DIY made from ingredients scratch version when possible!
There is a 3rd grade girl on one of my school bus routes that always says "Have a nice Taco Tuesday" when we are saying bye bye when I drop her off at her stop on the Monday PM route :) This warms my heart a bit & gives me grandpa like feelings of platonic appreciation due to her gentle genuine nature & the warm loving way in which she says these polite salutations.
I became a school bus driver in part because I noticed that children tend to be more sincere with less filtering & less jaded than most adults. I find their energetic zeal & enthusiasm & energy very uplifting & encouraging. I try to share fun science facts to inspire them. I talk about aircraft technology with one student on one route who regularly plays Microsoft Flight Simulator on his school issued Laptop computer and shows me screen shots while the bus is stooped & I hear the engine noises of take off, turbine jet engines sounds produced by the laptops speakers as he sits in the seat directly to my right as the bus driver.
It's fun to see that an 8 year old boy so enthusiastic about compared the aircraft product of Boeing & Airbus. He asks me lots of engineering oriented questions about the 787 or A380 & while I am able to answer many of these questions, sometimes I have to tell "I don't know, but you can look that up online with a Google Search to find the answer you are looking for" / this an example of teaching the student to seek out answers on his own & I consider this highly positive because it engenders a Can-do attitude in the student so they feel enabled to find solutions to the problems online!
There is a ton of information about nearly all topics on wikipedia & elsewhere on the web, though it can be a minefield of misinformation. Sometimes he asks me about something he read online that is clearly not factual. Some blogs & other publications online contain the works of trolls, even government intelligence agents from Russia & China who deliberately publish controversial misinformation to mislead, trick, confuse, frustrate, anger & cause social division or a loss of cross cultural unity.
Taco Tuesday a cleaver marketing phrase, but it speaks to a beautiful trend where people communicate pleasantries like this around food as a topic since everyone without exclusion can relate to food as a topic. There sadly exists a lot of dietary confusion, especially because of things like the metabolically deranging Food Pyramid which misleads a lot of people into overeating too many refined carbs that makes them fat & sick. Many Americans are morbidly obese from abusing refined carbohydrates. A typical American child see's more than 90,000 processed junk food TV commercials on their phone, tablet, laptop, public signs, advertisements, ads online, on product box labels & images at the store on products low on the shelf assembly near the eyes of small children who might be walking by with the parent. 95% of these ad's are of unhealthy foods.
The food industry in America doing the same thing that Tobacco companies were doing 30 years ago. In the future, 30 years from now, food companies will be banned from advertising to children, just like the tobacco companies were in 1994. I remember the Marlboro Man, that Maverick Jack-of-all-trades American cowboy imagery & branding very compelling to sell cigarettes to "people who like the mental impressions of the Marlboro Man" / this is why branding so powerful at manipulating peoples minds. People often call a bathroom tissue a Kleenex because this company that owns that brand spent hundreds of millions marketing it to embed it into the cultural fabric of America, just like Mr Rogers a hero to so many Americans with powerful phrases based on love like "Will you be my neighbor" really accepting other people with loving kindness like Christ Jesus inspired as a decent honorable christian man, Mr. Rogers was a hero who prayed positive ideas in every episode. He tried to teach moral precepts & uplift people who watched that epic show on TV.
Big food just like big alcohol. Sex sells the images to men, while lifestyle messages about appearing young and vivacious sell ideas to women. These companies high mass media manipulators who understand how to sculpt public opinion. The main goes of ad's are inception to get the idea into your brain without you even realizing where it came from in order to convey the idea that if you buy the produce they are promoting you will be living a better life! This is the main goal of all ads, to sell more product, and they do that by tricking people into believe that buying those products will make their life better, and sometimes that happens.
Shared wealth and prosperity in post WWII America enabled millions of Americans to become home owners for the first time in history a giant middle class was created. This is why I say that America peaked in the late 1960's. Sadly, due to the 1973 oil embargo from OPEC & other globalization problems, especially quantum easing by Federal Reserve, have been hollowing out this middle class as opulent billionaires make even more money while paying virtually zero personal income tax.
Some of the billionaires are even publicly saying that they believe they should pay their fair share if the IRS required them to pay, but narcissistic greedy people like the former president of the USA modified the Tax Code of the IRS to give billionaires & big transnational corporations huge tax breaks & incentives, so the working poor & highly marginalized middle class working people of America serving the federal expanding debt with W2 required by their employer withheld taxes to pay for Medicare, Medicaid & Social Security.
It seems like a socialized Ponzi scheme to me & I do not for one seconds believe that I will ever collect even 1 cent from the Social Security Fund that I am required by law to pay into with taxes taken from my by all of my employees over the years.
