10 Min Level 4 EV Charging

I am talking about 400,000 to 1,000,000 watt L4 DC Fastest Charging electric vehicle battery packs to emulate the user experience of adding 10-20 gallons of gasoline or diesel to a conventional vehicle at a gas station or fuel station.

Some cleaver scientists at Fraunhofer in Germany cooking up L4 charging with Porsche as the recognized the need to achieve recharge time parity with gasoline & diesel refueling sessions to enable a similar driver experience so that more people will be willing to buy a full electric car!

If someone only has to stop for 10 min of L4 ultra fast DC charging their EV once per week, this will enable huge portions of the vehicle buying population to actually replace an ICE vehicle with a BEV or battery electric vehicle. 

Papa Scotty Kilmer on his car mechanic oriented YouTube channel points out that gasoline & diesel are not going away. Even when some states ban the sale of new model year ICE vehicles, there will still be millions of older vehicles operating for decades after 2030 or 2035 that need to be fueled with gasoline & diesel or biofuel drop in replacement fuels or GTL fuels that replace fossil fuels like DME in diesel engines. With over 43 years of experience working on cars, I trust Scotty's opinion about this & even Toyota bet big on hybrid because they agreed that battery electric EV technology too early for mass adoption by the general public worldwide. Only a tiny fraction of people can actually afford these hundred thousand dollar EV's like the Tesla Model X or Model S P100D, and even used Tesla Model 3's sell for over $40,000 // like the Toyota Prius Prime selling for more than $43,000 used // 

Magnets becoming expensive because China raised the price of the rare earths elements used to make high performance IPM class magnets like niobium by 500%. Induction (magnet-less or no-magnet) electric motors give automakers an EV traction motor generator option other than IPM & even Tesla uses induction motors in the BEVs! IPM more energy efficient because the stator magnetic fields can push on the solid state magnets in the rotor, where induction motors have loses inducing magnetic fields from the windings in the stator to the windings in the rotor, or bars, or cages // consider the difference in the energy efficiency of a class 2 switching power supply vs a magnetic transformer // similarly electric motor controllers are undergoing radical innovation improvements with SiC or silicon carbide higher power transistors & high temperature high performance high power electronics, robust stronger high power chipsets, and really innovative electronic cooling technologies with more heat sink thermal management & liquid cooling using the heat pump or AC to chill the motor & motor controller & battery pack. 

Think being limited lithium ion batteries to metal air batteries & foam batteries & nano wire batteries & replacing carbon with silicon & gold in the anode & replacing lithium with sodium in the cathode. Think emerging Sodium Ion battery electric vehicles! Solid state batteries & super fast charging fire proof heat resistant, hot proof, vibration proof, way better in every regard to the thermal sensitive lithium ion batteries in the early EV's of today! 

Gasoline & diesel made from crude oil will be replaced by much cleaner burning GTL fuels made from natural gas or synthetic gas or biogas recovered from waste dumps & compost & food scraps & other sources of biological refuse or algae. We can literally convert funky slime & funk from nature into clean burning next generation biofuels as drop in replacements for fossil diesel & fossil gasoline made from petroleum & crude oil at oil refineries today. All the easy crude oil near the surface of Earth's crust already been pumped up & burned off or combusted into air pollution & acid rain & climate change contributions long ago. The net energy return on investment for fossil fuels dropped from 94:1 to less than 37:1 today in mid 2023. Government emissions laws & public health laws & other political pressures will force the commercialization of far cleaner burns synfuels or synthetic fuels, especially the Shell GTL gas to liquids based liquid gasoline & diesel made from natural gas. Just like brown hydrogen, synfuels are not eco-friendly & their production still contributes green house gas emissions that make climate change worse faster. 

Americans burn 370 million gallons of fuel daily, a hard target for biofuel replacements or GTL synthetic gasoline & diesel. GTL fuels made by Shell cost $7/ gallon to manufacture from natural gas. People are complaining about $5/ gal gasoline, so GTL synfuel & similar synthetic fuels made from use motor oil & plastics turned into fuels, these fuels will cost $8/gal or more, probably a lot more because of currency inflation. I can see $20 per gallon in my lifetime! 

I actually think the FED will re-numerate the USD, kinda like Mexico did to the Peso. Dollars steadily losing values, so the cost of food & housing & lifes basics increasing to working poor & marginalized hollowed out middle class in America. Where I live, where most of the single family homes sold for under $100,000 when I was born are now selling for over $700,000. That's 700% increase over 40 years, or around 17.5% annual increase, in part because the money less valuable now. 

There is a joke at the treasury of the United States where the treasury employees call the $100 Note the "New $20" referencing that you need a hundred dollar bill to buy what a twenty dollar bill purchased in the recent easily rememberable past! I want to send a special thanks to the Federal Reserve for deregulating irresponsible banks that are now going bankrupt. I want to thank the US Federal Government & IRS for giving billionaires so many tax breaks that many of the worlds wealthiest Americans, more than 1000 people, pay virtual no personal income tax on their huge incomes! 

There are YouTube videos by Asianometry that cover what happened when Japan Ate Its Rich & what happen with South Korea Ate its Rich, that explain that at some point when income inequality reaches a tipping point the public puts pressure on the corrupt governments that let it happen to address the growing inequality as millions of elderly people become poor and unable to afford housing or food or life's basics, people that retired on fixed retirement incomes years ago who cannot afford all the price increases.
