If You're Reading this Your Probably a Human

Being a human a remarkable thing for a lot of reasons! Dogs are mankind's best friend for example, or a house cat if you prefer. The story of being human a complicated emergent history on planet Earth an interesting & complicated tale, the following few paragraphs help to lay these ideas out into a framework perspective & understanding!

Humans (Homo sapiens) are the most abundant and widespread species of primate, characterized by bipedalism and large, complex brains, which enabled the development of advanced tools, culture, and language. Humans are highly social and tend to live in complex social structures composed of many cooperating and competing groups, from families and kinship networks to political states. Social interactions between humans have established a wide variety of values, social norms, and rituals, which bolster human society. Curiosity and the human desire to understand and influence the environment and to explain and manipulate phenomena have motivated humanity's development of science, philosophy, mythology, religion, and other fields of study.

Humans have large, complicated brains which enabled the development of tools & language & humor, features rarely seen in other species, & even if so, too much lesser extents. Interacting people form social structures like families or communities or businesses or states that rely on both competition & cooperation. Humans teach other humans & even some animals, math, language, accounting, music, & other creativity aspects of making things. Education the foundation of modern civilization as people utilize language & abstract symbolic logic & arithmetic manipulation to engage in advanced work disciplines.

Through the use of human labor, then animal labor, then coal thermal steam engines & then fossil fueled engines, man has invented machines to do work, most significantly machines to generate electricity, transistors & thus paving the way to the information age of the 4th industrial revolution today. Politics, religion, faith, spirituality, science fiction, the arts, fabrication, manufacturing, agriculture, global trade & globalization, human have invented & commercialized many advanced machines like the International Space Station, the South Pole Research Station, rockets like the Saturn V & SpaceX Falcon 9 & even Nuclear Energy Reactors & nuclear weapons.

Humans are reflective analytical & predictive intelligent & emotional beings that even went on to study nature with ecology to discover why western industrialization pollution fallout causes ecosystem degradation & when multiplied across the worldwide population of nearly 8 billion people today, those emissions are a cause factor or driver of climate change that has tremendous long term negative consequences if it gets out of control.

From morality to ethics & even etiquette, human people are complicated, each person slightly different, but also complicated on a system level as a society of competing nation states, engaged in wars of different kinds, using tools of death, bioweapons, chemical weapons, kinetic weapons, directed energy weapons, & all kinds of information acquisition technology that got kicked off with glass optics in middle ages Italy that gave the state a strategic advantage to see the enemy coming from far off on the horizon first. The microscope was the telescope optics rearranged. We then developed STEM scanning tunneling electron microscopes. Scientific research tolls helped humans discover pathogenic bacteria & viral pathogen like the one causing the global COVID19 epidemic today.

Creativity in the arts & even in research to design experiments & procedures, our ability to synthesize information into new forms or to mix ideas with interdisciplinary fusion, gives humans the ability to come up with novel innovations, like new battery chemistries to store electrical energy in reversable chemical reactions like the lithium-ion batteries in most portable electronics & electric vehicles of today! From Artificial Intelligence to Faster than Light Travel by warping space time, humans are coming up with ways to realize science fiction concepts with applied science & technology.

Despite human skills & abilities & collaboration, many problems people create for themselves continue to exist unaddressed. Crime, poverty, income inequity, pollution, toxic workplace exposure to carcinogenic substance & other mutagens & hormone disrupting chemicals like PFOS used to apply Teflon to other products or when plating aerospace parts with hexavalent chromium.

Humans even figured out that the UV from the SUN causes DNA damage in skin, giving rise to photo aging & sometimes melanoma in people with a genetic risk factor for cancers. We are entering a life science era of genetically engineered plants & CRISPR for animals like humans & while millions of small molecule drugs, we are moving towards biologics or monoclonal antibodies MAB's & polyclonal antibodies, new vaccines & anti-viral medications for HIV, Hepatitis C, Shingles, Herpes & other deadly or lifelong viral infections //

From hunters & gatherers to a people that eat ultra-processed junk foods that form the foundation of the SAD or standard American diet, with too much sugar, almost no fiber, not enough healthy fats, too much saturated fat, low quality hormone & antibiotic treated meat & pesticide covered or GMO fruits & veggies. In this & many other examples, we fail as we go, learning how to apply more intelligent or better ways progressively. Winners often fail too; they just restart & try again & never stop trying. I would like to encourage you to never give up either. You are beautifully & wonderfully made inside your mothers' uterus from 126 elements, most of which were formed in stars larger than our GV2 class star, the Sun, in our little part of the Milky Way Galaxy. Your life is temporary & you are running out of time so try to play more, have fun & make the best of every day. With love I wish you good blessings, Godspeed & pray that your aim is true! Cheers friends! Warm Regards - I would love to see everyone thrive more!

Current human species emerged around 300,000 years ago in Africa. For most of human history people were living as nomadic hunter gatherers. During the neolithic revolution in southwestern Asia, permanent settlements formed around the basis of agricultural food production technology, around 13,000 years ago. Many civilizations have risen & fallen in response to a need to govern large populations during this long historical period & despite many different setbacks, human overpopulation emerged after the green revolution in the 1960's, so extensively that today there is as estimated 7.9 billion people alive as of December 2020.

Genes or genetic inheritable traits, epigenetic factors, diet & other environmental influences like air quality, water quality, pollution levels, noise & light levels, vibration, harmonics, culture, ideology, language, moral, perspective, faith & social structure- influence visible characteristics, disease susceptibility, physiology, mental abilities, body size & life span. Most people are 99% genetically similar. Men & generally larger & stronger with more muscle & strength while women are shorter, smaller & have more body fat. Women tend to live longer than men & women become sexually able to carry a baby to birth during the sexual maturity window during the later teen years, though many women wait until their 20's or 30's to have children for other social & economic & cultural & ideological reasons & eventually become infertile via menopause around the age of 50.

Born helpless as a baby, human continue to develop outside the womb, using biochemicals their mother consumed via foods during early gestational development & then foods the parents supply the baby once the baby enters the world. With the intelligence of an alarm clock, a baby very fragile & delicate & can sleep up to 22 hours per day as its brain is undergoing explosive neuron development that peaks when people reach around age 26. Staying physically fit & active with exercise helps to promote long term brain health, as does the consumption of a healthy diet based on sound nutritional science with an empirical basis in reality that takes into account allergies & other individual sensitivities of each person. Some people can digest lactose, the specific sugar present in cow milk & some milk-based foods like yogurt or ice-cream or gelato or heavy cream or half&half that I put in my coffee every morning.

The larger prefrontal cortex or magic behind our eyes, gives our human brains the abilities of higher cognitive functions, like intelligence, episodic memory (order of how things happening), flexible facial expressions, awareness of self & ability to recognize oneself in a mirror. Human even cook up theories about how their minds work & study the electrochemical & cytology & physiology of the human brain organ that hosts the mind the way computer hardware hosts software. Humans are capable of introspective, reflective, analytical & predictive thinking. With private thought, imagination, volition, free will & agency, people have invented theories about existence itself. Through publishing the written world, people are able to pass down information across time & place & between generations, which enabled the long term & global scale transmission of information & information is power, which when combined with computers & networks over telecom systems, created a big data explosion & ushed in the online Prime Amazon Member, Google Search era of Today. These phenomenon & other aspects of collaboration gave & continues to give humans many advantages over other species on Earth, including similar Great Apes, Chimpanzees, Orangutangs, & Bonobos for example.

During the 4th millennium BCE, city-state development like Sumerian cities of Mesopotamia, developed writing system as cuneiform scripts, around 3000 BCE, with similar developments in Ancient Egypt & the Indus Valley. Trade between these civilizations create commercial technologies like wheels, plows, & sails, which enable more efficient transport of goods over longer systems of trade as the first logistics systems. A large drought caused declines in the first civilizations, where the Babylonians in Mesopotamia came up. The bronze age fell apart around 1200 BCE, with the Greek Dark Ages, during which time the iron age replaced the bronze age as metal working improved. Iron gives a compact strong metal still employed widely today with steel, stainless steel & even cast-iron cookware.

Organize recording of historical events started to appear in the 5th century. Over time, this created more accurate maps, collection of taxes, funding of bigger government & the Ancient Greek & Ancient Rome started flurishing by the 8th century. During this time the Maya created complex calendars. Achaemenid Empire's central government as a model came to dominate future developments of later empires, like the Han Dynasty in China or Gupta Empire in India.

By the year 476 the Western Roman Empire failed, plunging Europe in the Middle Ages. Christianity became the central governing body of authority & education in the west. During the Islamic expansion the Golden Age created new achievement in architecture, algebra, & more science & technology in medicine, navigation, finance & accounting, perfecting new ways of life. The Kingdom of England & France & the Holy Roman Empire engaged in wars to control the "Holy Land" & take it away from Muslims.

The Ottomans controlled the Mediterranean Basin region during the early modern period 1500-1800, when Japan entered the Edo period & the Qing Dynasty arose in China & the Mughal Empire ruled much of India. Europe experienced the Renaissance starting in the 1400's, the age of scientific discovery & colonial expansion fueled by this search to learn more about the world. The British Empire became the world's largest, most especially with the colonization of America & why I am writing this post in English language today.

With slavery exploiting the peoples of Africa for difficult labor, eventually people invented & manufactured labor-saving machines, made more use of draft animals & diesel engines & removed a lot of people from the hardest slave labor conditions. This progressive social shift gave rise to the Scientific Revolution, with tremendous advantages in mathematics, mechanics, astronomy, physiology, applied technology, innovation & creativity flourished to invent ways to fill out the entire periodic table of the elements, especially later on during the Technological & first Industrial Revolution around the later modern period during the 1800's.

Engines burning petroleum fuels energized transportation with roads paving the way to future developments, improved logistics & trade & economic growth, more creation of wealth & prosperity & the raising of living standards out of poverty & the creation of a larger middle class with egalitarian efforts that peaked in America during the 1960s before banks became the dominate sector in the American economy like they are today.

During WWII nuclear weapons were developed by authoritarian regimes in nearly all countries. A nuclear arms race & space race emerged between America & Russia. Today we find ourselves alive in the 4th industrial revolution, built on top of the globalization & interconnectedness created during the 3rd industrial revolution. Today, the internet connects minds across time & place, enabling you to read this blog posting about humans. Electricity & electromagnetic fields are the engine that powers this information technology & can be made with renewable energy or thermal power from a variety of combustion or fission processes.

Looking at human physiology, legs, torso, arms, neck & head, we know that the adult human body contains 100 trillion cells. The entire US economy worth about 11 trillion USD2020 by comparison.
In medicine, the most well-defined body systems are nervous (CNS, PNS), cardiovascular (heart & lungs, arteries & veins & capillaries), digestive gut biome microbe ecosystem composting food, the endocrine system of lymph nodes & thyroid gland & pancreas, hormonal axis's, cytokine or cell signaling cascades, immune functions, integumentary & lymphatic, musculoskeletal, reproductive, respiratory & urinary systems.

With smaller crowded teeth than our chimpanzee analogs, humans also losing their third molars, as mine were completely impacted & surgically removed when I was a teenager. With about 2 million sweat glands spread out over our whole bodies, they are also covered with short wispy vellus hairs that are nearly invisible. This enables people to endure very hot weather much better than other animals. A worldwide adult male human averages about 5 ft 7 in or 171 cm & about 170 lbs or 77 kg, while female global averages about 5 ft 3 in or 159 cm & about 130 lbs or 59 kg.

Humans have more accurate throw than other animals, giving early hunting with spears better results, helping to improve the reproductive fitness of the human species. Humans are also the best long-distance runners & have the most single awake period endurance of any animals, so while other prey faster at sprinting, humans able to hunt then until the hunted animal exhausted, giving yet another early advantage to the human species as the apex hunter gatherer. With great abilities comes great responsibilities & we must take care of nature, ecosystems & each other as people, with love as the guiding motivation, the moral impetus, to protect life since life is precious & special & worth defending. You are beautifully & wonderfully made with a sound, well balanced, and well controlled mind & spirit, able to do incredible good by being kind & respectful of other people & helping to improve anything you interact with any way you can think of, especially to help other people!

Consciousness the most familiar while also remaining the most mysterious phenomenon in life. A human being able to express its sentience or awareness or personal experience of subjective reality that each person experiences in a unique & continually changing way as their brain function & structures dynamically rewire in response to what the person doing, hearing, seeing, such that each person's life completely unique especially given subtle genetic differences that make each person slightly different, even our doppelgangers. Anil Seth gives an eye-opening talk at the royal institution about how people hallucinate their experience of reality as an inner mental simulation that stitches together information from the skin, eyes, nose, ears, & cross references this incoming information against things the person already knows in their long-term memory.

Human consciousness, at its simplest, is "sentience or awareness of internal or external existence".[287] Despite centuries of analyses, definitions, explanations and debates by philosophers and scientists, consciousness remains puzzling and controversial,[288] being "at once the most familiar and most mysterious aspect of our lives"
