This means more renewables like solar, wind, geothermal, wave, hydro, ocean thermal, solar thermal, nuclear fission, fusion. Note that most of the ground heat of Earth actually results from radioactive elements decaying in the Earth as naturally occurring radioactive elements, like uranium. Fusion means making energy or heat the way the Sun fuses 600 million tons of hydrogen into 3/4 helium every second, but in a much smaller commercial fusion power reactor, the commercialization of which always seems billions of dollars away & on the horizon but smoke & mirrors in terms of actually making net positive energy to energize power grids or user electrical loads.
I am talking about pumping water into the earth to heat the water into steam that is then forced into power generating turbines to produce electricity exported into power grids to ends users who pay utility companies for that electricity by the kilowatt hour.
Locally we indirectly pay PSE or puget sound energy, a private utility monopoly regulated by the Washington State Energy Commission, otherwise PSE would just keep raising the cost of electricity to maximize profits, since they like many other utilities have a captive market of electrical power utility customers who have no alternate way of buying power or electricity from anyone other than the monopoly utility company they are connected too with their household electrical connection to grid power AC usually via 2 conductors of hot into 200 amp utility panel with two rows of resettable break switches for 120v ac outlets in America, namely the 15-R or standard power outlet, serving up un to 1875 watts of electricity at 60hz frequency and around 110-115 or 120vac voltage, AC as in alternating.
A black hot wire in the wall connects to the breaker switch, while a white neutral wire has the same electrical current carrying capacity as the black, but returns the electrical power back to through the ground connection where the neutral wires & ground wires are bonded in the electrical panel. When a breaker setup connects both power legs in the utility panel, that makes 240vac outlet for ovens, clothing dryers, welders, Level 2 ev chargers & other electric water heater or heavy load appliances.
Some Italian guy came up with the idea of making electricity from a steamy bore hole into the earth & setup a crude simple steam pipe into the hot volcanic earth nearby, plumbed into a control valve, turbine generator & some light bulbs. He had friends, media & others come to the official launch testing of his then new technology, and opened the valve, it started hissing, then the turbine came to life & the light bulbs lit up, the first production of geothermal electricity in the world. His name was Prince Piero Ginori Conti. He proved that geothermal power can work. Many took note of this new power production method & spread around the world.
Today Iceland has the most installed geothermal power production, largely due to the unique geological structure near & around cities in Island, where volcanic hot subsurface activity near the surface where its feasible and practical or cost effective to drill & install heat exchanger pipes, at first and long ago done for district heating of homes, pools & spas, and more recently for the production of electricity.
Carbon Neutrality a popular political buzz word with regressive mentally flat idiots in governments around the world who literally metaphorically suck the pipes of oil companies who revenue turns into bribery to pay for the campaigns of these sleazy jerks that no one like like Gazprom & Vladimir Putin, how they share money & power together in despicable disgusting ways that are not even worth mentioning. Notice there is virtually no middle class in Russia, to understand what I mean!
Interesting that Donald Trump long time friends with Vladimir Putin & visited Jeffry Epstein's island of teen abuse many times for more than 20 years with other diplomats including the Clintons! This is what I mean when I say unlikable jerks in governments! These fools are guilty of the idolatry of money & the abuse of power & the abuse of the people they are elected to serve & represent.
But almost everyone in America knows that politicians in America serve corporate special in big evil industries that profit by harming the public, leek the ultra processed food industry, big oil & gas emissions & oil spills, big alcohol drunk driving & worse diseases, big tobacco lies for decades about the health benefits of smoking that were the exact opposite of what is factually true, that smoking cigarettes is harmful to health.
I am talking about big pharmaceutical, big agro chemical, big huge industries with lots of money that are also very corrupt at the highest level with tons of lobbyists in Washington DC helping the congressmen & senators sever the American people by effectively selling everyone out to the biggest bidder, in what might as well be called if your an America bend over and let Uncle Sam have his IRS way with you, since all the tax breaks go to billionaires not regular people like you! This is also why we still burning coal, the dirties, most toxic, most harmful to the public, most damaging to nature, most stupid, most ignorant & cheapest way of making electricity. An entire train car full of coal only costs about $60, making it very cheap in terms of its chemical thermal content to be used to burn to make steam to power turbines at coal power plants widely around the world.
This is shameful given that we have over 400 nuclear fission reactors that make heat & power without burning anything! We have geothermal, hydro, solar, wind & many other ways of making renewable electricity without burning coal in huge amounts that require mowing down entire mountain ranges with eco-toxic mining of coal, or dangerous coal mines that catch fire like all those coal mines in china that keep burning out of control for decades now since its impractical to put the chines mainland underground coal seam fires out.
Hydro power already done at the GW scale at many huge hydropower dams like Three Gorges Dam complex in China, the world's largest hydro power facility. But humanity has an increasing apatite for more electricity and the forecast of future electrical demand suggests we need 3X more electricity by 2050 than is produced by all means today in 2024. If we take Germany's ignorant coal energy pathway, it would be making Earth's biosphere a smoggy mess of air pollution sicking everyone with respiratory diseases, black soot getting onto & into everything fouling the Earth. We need to broadly decarbonize all electrical systems in the world now! We need to phase out coal power & other combustion based technologies & embrace clean renewables & energy storage capacity built out by the Petawatt Hour worldwide! I am talking about radically increasing renewable energy generation & nuclear power production in order to effectively phase out combustion, to radically improve air quality & reduce pollution emissions, and even to abate or control climate change, or slow it down, or make it less worse.
