WiFi Internet the Ultimate App

It can be 3G or 4G LTE or 5G on your mobile phone "smartphone" ahem. Have you been to a library lately, they look like internet cafes without the $6 latte coffee or espresso drinks popular with hipsters in urban locals. "Can I get a dirty chai with organic free range soy foam at 123 F please"

Was it dark chocolate sauce or the caffein in your green tea that got you high to the point of being addicted to living. Do you even know what you are doing? Try unplugging your homes wifi router & turn off your smartphone or any other wireless networking device and read a paper printed book. Boom, you will be in the boring slow past when nothing changed quickly enough to make a meaningful difference. Think tree haters that did not recycle paper or plastic or metal or glass because such services were not widely available as world wide waste increased alongside the human population explosion that increased the number of people alive at the same time from 2 billion in 1940 to 8 billion + in 2023.

People are materialistic & selfish by nature! Look at how people with money spend it!

Cars & automobiles in America are almost all the same if you zoom out and look at the wheels & windows and rounded rectangular box wedge shapes of the sheet metal & plastics. They go A to B with people and stuff like a bag of groceries inside, parents & children, or friends commuting together to work at the same or nearby locations. A bus is the most efficient transportation solution on a road and highway spread out country with urban sprawl into suburban & urban areas as people are forced to drive further until they can afford to buy, since the land nearby so expensive that homes cost 20x their annual income or more, where apartment rent eats up most of the regular workers income.

Light Rail paid for by drivers paying higher registration RTA tax fee's decades behind schedule and 200% over budget. Emblematic of inefficient bureaucracy in America.

WTF are you looking at online. I see people staring into their smartphones like they are staring at their shoes or feet or sandals. I write these blog posting & do my research on a laptop, in this case a 2014 acer that barely works with windows 10, it shipped with windows 8 and cannot be upgraded to Windows 11. It does however run Grand Theft Auto V at really slow framerates on the integrated GPU of its antiquated low power Core i5, probably with 35w TDP from 2013, so not exactly a gaming PC, it even features a glass touchscreen LED LCD that has a nice dimming range :)

I have way to many electronics and most of them only do what they can with wifi access to the internet. I was using the AccuWeather App on my 2014 Kyocera Brigadier for example, which only works with wifi now because it does not have an active SIM card anymore. Back then I was paying Verizon too much per month for mediocre access to slow mobile internet on a very rugged by slow laggy android phone that was promoted by Bear Grilles, it even has a synthetic sapphire screen and an ultrasonic transducer that turns that big roughly rectangular slab of aluminum oxide crystal into a very loud speaker, way louder than any other cell phone I have used, which is great on a construction worksite or other area where there are loud background noises that make a voice call hard to hear on other phones, and surely enough this rugged android phone was marketed to construction workers. Its weak sealed internal lithium ion battery faded very quickly. At the time I was working as an Amazon Flex driver and needed an android phone with the Flex app sideloaded, and iPhone was not supported.

I paid $400 for this Kyocera Brigadier and when I went to ask Verizon about a trade in credit they offered me $5, so I kept it, reasoning that I could harvest the sapphire window & transducer & magnets & other fun to make art & science project parts :) It still works. I popped it onto a very old high-end QI wireless inductive charger from my late brother in law Drake, and gave it a full 100% saturation charge. Playing with it to look up the weather, weather forecast, radar map, hourly, daily, weekly, temp & precipitation / it was losing 1% per minute or has about 100 minutes of battery life now. I have pondered taking it apart to install a fresh LiPo battery, but that requires me to use weird expensive liquid sealing to replace the polymer adhesive gaskets I had to defeat to replace the battery.

SIM cars are giving way to e-SIM since a new smartphone like the S23 from Samsung or iP14 from Apple can hold up to 8 e-SIM numbers and have 2 active e-SIM or two phone numbers to the same device. No physical sim means your sim cannot be removed or stollen either. All future iPhones are going with e-SIM or electronic subscriber identity modules. The SIM or e-SIM tells the network if you have a paid active account, either prepaid or billed monthly, hence the subscriber title.

Comcast Xfinity the magic behind all your connected devices. Or 4G LTE or 5G, its the access to the internet that creates all the sizzle in these slabs of minerals. Yes, your smartphone a slab of minerals, metals, plastics, glasses, rare-earths, magnets & more. Thats what Kyocera was making synthetic sapphire for the Brigadier, they are a ceramics company in Japan. Kyocera makes exceptional ceramic knives of very high quality.

Sparkplugs in ICE or internal combust engines, by NGK, or TBD coatings in aerospace & aircraft engines, even high-end watch bands & wrist watches & artificial teeth are made with exceptional high strength ceramics or super ceramics like alumina doped zirconia or Zircon :) I got a Zirconia black band for my 41mm Series 8 Apple Watch & gave me a white zirconia band for her Series 5 Apple.

Batteries are what make portable electronics work, and like Wi-Fi or LTE or 5 watch. Meg has a zirconia tooth that triggered my research into advanced ceramics. G, without good batteries these smart devices do not work well, other than as complex paper weights or door stops. Ceramic batteries are solid state technology designed to address all of the fire & temperature sensitivity issues created  by liquid electrolytes in common lithium polymer batteries. Solid state polymer and ceramic batteries will enable MW level 4 charging in 10 minutes or less of next generation EV's.

Tesla even speculated to be launching a sub $20k EV using the latest lighter smaller cheaper battery technology that cobalt free using silicon in the anode & more aluminum in the cathode. Tesla also figured out how to make IPM internal permanent magnet motors without rare-earth magnets. Tesla also making no-magnet induction traction motors. But the IPM offers superlative energy efficiency while cruising at speeds on the highway or freeway or byway or roads. Ceramics like SiC are very important for high-power electronics in electric vehicle motor controllers to convert battery DC current at thousands of amps into many dozens or hundreds of kW of power to move the vehicle.

Tesla BEV's are connected 4G LTE devices, and have a lot in common with a smartphone, with over the air updates or downloads & mobile networking. God help us if a bad CME hits Earth and knocks out all the digital fun. Electricity is the real magic making it all happen. Tesla also innovating into very cheap $0.02 per watt gen 3.5 solar PV roof tiles to make rooftop solar energy systems that more people can afford, so they have extra money to buy 2 Tesla Powerwall's to store the PV generation so they have electricity to watch Amazon Prime videos of Jeremey Clarkston Farming, at night when its dark when they get home from work :P Electricity to power the oil filled space heater & oven & fridge & comcast internet router & cable box, to charge your phone or power your gaming computer, to wash your clothes or heat your water or run your microwave oven.
