Rain Reduces Air Pollution

Most wonderful rain improves AQ or air quality & brings fresh water to Life On Earth.

Sadly pollutants interacting with rain produce expensive problems associate with acid rain that makes bodies of water toxic to fish by reducing O2 levels & rusting out infrastructure faster by oxidizing iron structures, bolts & nuts & beams & bars

While rain reduces air pollutants & improve air quality, it also moves NOX & SOX as dilute nitric & sulfuric acid rain that causes corrosion & rusting issues that cost the US Economy alone more than $400 billion annually in damage, including acid rain damaging crops & lakes & acidifying the oceans which reducing oxygen concentration in bodies of water.

Forest fire smoke & soot or industrial emissions from factories or mine or tailpipe pollution from gasoline & diesel vehicles & commercial equipment & portable generators, torches & forges & more, when the rain interacts with these emission of PM or particle matter the small droplets capture some of the emissions & rinse them down onto Earth's land & water surface.

Rain makes it easier to breath by improve the moisture content of air, raising the relative humidity to something less harsh on lung cells that perfect dry arid air common during summer heat in the American south west Sonoran & Mojave deserts for example, where that super cool solar thermal Ivanpah solar stat mirror to power tower energy generators are located!

It had not rained in any significant wake locally near Sea-Tac airport in Washington State for 51 days. I woke up early around 4:30am & shot some early low light video of rain near our home, the first real rain in almost 2 months of hot summer weather.

Climate & weather affects farms & ski resorts & can make for hazards & disasters with powerful storms like hurricanes & tornados that damages many billions of dollars of homes & business every year. Flooding & drought are similarly costly for different reasons. Our ability to make food for 8 billion people heavily depends on when & where the rain falls & how much rain falls. Where there is water there is life!

Have a look at my YouTube video of the first rain near Seattle in 51 days!  (<--click link to watch)

Praise be to God for the new rains as they make it easier to breath with better air quality! Rain waters everyones yards & gardens & rinses off all the vehicles & buildings, roofs & roadways, creating water pollution that could be filtered & remediated to remove toxic components if society had greater abundance to apply more technology to reduce pollution & pollutant emissions since everyone knows that pollution sickens people & other animals with diseases that form as the pollutant absorbed into the skin & eyes & nose & throat & lungs of the person with air pollution exposure & medical science perfectly clear that pollution caused sickness & diseases of many kinds that would be reduced faster if we reduce our pollution emissions.

I am toying around with the idea of parking a catalytic converter onto of our small hobby metal forge in the blow hole to clean up its emissions. Exhaust from the apparatus hot enough with enough flow volume to keep catalytic converter hot enough to function as a pollution reducing apparatus, theoretically. I found a universal exhaust catalytic converter on Amazon for $55 that might work //
