Wild coal fires in China emit more air pollution than all the automobiles, and fossil fuel vehicles off all kinds in the USA, including aircraft & ships. If we want to fight climate change, it would cost less to put out the wild coal fires in China than convert all the vehicles to battery electric. How do you charge an EV during a power outage? 

Government black budgets and money that gets lost in action or LIA, not accounted for, many billions or even trillions gone missing globally. 

Nearly all countries running national debt with their finite limited failure prone fiat currencies subject to hyperinflation and loss of value with time, sometimes suddenly, like when Mexico revalued the Peso in 1980.

Western doctors that spent 10 minutes with their patients, mostly figuring out which drugs to prescribe, not inquiring about their diet or lifestyle, not in any detailed way with any real health data. 

Diabetic people without affordable access to insulin dying of fatal high blood sugars. 

Crime on the rise as the middle class shrinks and more normal people are forced into poverty. 

Lifelong STD's that cause cancer long term like herpes, or that destroy the liver like hepatitis, or destroy the immune system like HIV, or bacterial infections that causes painful soars or worse in very sensitive areas of the body. 

Chronic stress, screen light pollution, barking dogs and traffic sound pollution, noises & lights that keep people awake or cause sleep disorders that end up causing chronic sleep deficit that causes cancer as the long term side effect of long term accumulated sleep deficit.

Fear, anxiety, stress and worse from the 24/7 news cycle of mostly negative news.

Toxic social media networks bombarding people with misinformation published by operatives from Russia and China who seek to deliberately cause social division and societal decay in America and Western European countries. 

Ideological friction undermining wars and conflicts between Islamic extremist groups and progress secular west society that they consider evil.

Disinformation published by the government to snowball the general public into not understand an issue with reference to the real factual cause or basis, in order to manipulate and mislead people into false conclusions.

Long Life Roads & Bridges

Fiber reinforced concrete mixes that last 200X longer, are 50X more flexible, do not crack or dry out nearly as fast and have 10 the sheer strength, 20X the elastic modulus, and have the same compressive strength, that have 200 to 1000 years of service life in bridges and roadways, all by just adding fine stainless steel wire mesh to the concrete mix, fibers of aramid or carbon fiber, or plant fibers or synthetic fibers like PP or polypropylene, or ultra high molecular weight fibers that are super strong, fibers that add amazing properties to concrete mixes incorporating these fiber reinforcements or fiber reinforced concrete or ultra high strength concrete often used for missile silos and other long life government installations.

I was in Japan in 2010 in central Tokyo at a park on a Sunday having a barbecue with some engineers from Toyota & Honda. When speaking with them using a mix of Japanese & English bidirectional assisted translation, we were slowly able to clearly discuss automotive technology and the lifespan of cars made by Toyota and Honda. Please excuse the summary, but they effectively told me that "its been known how to build a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry to last 2 million miles or 50 years, with stronger suspension, larger bearings, more friction reduction efforts in the engine and transmission which are also made thicker heavier and stronger, special stainless steel alloys used for the body corrosion protected with many layers of anti-corrosion dip electrolytic coatings, baked on powder finish, primer, then paint coats followed by clear coats, and lots of extra sealing compounds and polymers applied to seems and gaps, continual welds instead of spot welds, and thicker stronger door hinges. They said that making the cars this way makes than 50% heavier, which requires larger brakes, bigger tires, stronger wheels, and all sorts of other modifications that eventually increase the cost of such a vehicle by %60. Summarizing more they said most new car buyers are not willing to pay twice as much for an ultra-long life version of a car made this way with the longest life components beefed up and made to last a lifetime. Furthermore, there is not money in such an effort and if you want such a vehicle you have to buy one of the those large class 8 turbos inline 6 diesel trucks used to pull containers filled with commercial goods & other items, which can last millions of miles and 50 years if well maintained because they are deliberately overbuilt to be use nearly continually pulling heavy loads. 

Electric Vehicle Tire Dust 3X More From Instant Torque EV Motors

Many owners of Tesla electric vehicles powered by lithium ion batteries notice that the expensive wheels and tires result in destroyed tires within 6000 miles of use, while a well made typical ICE car tire set can last 30,000 or 60,000 or even 90,000 mi respectively. This issue arrises from the higher instant torque applied to the tires by the electric traction motors in battery electric vehicles that can accelerate very rapidly. In practice the performance acceleration focus of the way power delivered to the wheels by the motor controller map and traction motor means much greater sheer forces on the tire tread or tire compound interface with the roadway surfaces. 

On paved dry concrete or asphalt this combination grinds away the tires faster, resulting in accelerated tire wear, radically reducing tire life on BEV's. This also means that EV's are pumping out 10X more microplastics, since the tire tread erosion products or TEP are one of the leading sources of microplastics polluted into environments. 

Reducing Tires Waste & Renewable Asphalt Roads

Retreading the tires now popular in Germany a way to add new life to old tires, especially if they are only a few years old, since the steel fiber reinforced vulcanized rubber shell of the tire can last 10 years even if all the tread worn away faster. This means that hot melting new tread to DOT safe standards can be used to remake or refurbish tires or retread tires, which means they are typically cheaper than brand new tires. 

Asphalt made of tar and bitumen hot mixed with gravel, when old and dried out and cracking like the title image of this post, can be removed from roadways, ground up, mixed with some fresh hot tar and laid back down hot, where it cools in place and solidifies. In this way asphalt can be continually redone over & over as a renewable roadway paving surface. It is true that concrete roads last 10X longer, but redoing the concrete very hard, slower and more expensive, and concrete roads cost 5X more than asphalt roads. 

Automotive Glass, Metal & Plastic Recovery

Vehicle glass can be smashed into cullet, melted and made into new glass. The metals of most vehicles can be ground up and smelted into new metals. Many plastics and plastic fiber fabrics in vehicles can be ground up into small bits and mixed with fresh plastic pellets to melt hot injection press new plastic parts. Much of the copper, aluminum, nickel, steel, many of the valuable metals used in automobiles can be recovered during car scrapping when they are EOL or end of life recovered at junk yards or similar.
