Tea the Most Consumed Drink in the World

Ordinary plain water the most widely consumed beverage in the world, but it occurs as fresh water in nature, making tea the most popular man made beverage which started in 59 BC China in terms of dried oxidized Camellia Sinensis leaves infused in hot water for a few minutes, producing lovely light golden honey color warm beverage that can be cooled off or served ice cold as a summer beverage in warm weather known as Iced Tea, which is often also sweetened with sugar or honey, or a Fog tea made by adding milk to the hot tea.

Firstly Water to Tea Leave Ratio

1 teaspoon of dry tea leaves per 8 fluid ounces of hot water, or in metric since the rest of the world not America thats about 237 ml of water per 4 grams of tea leaves, I am talking about loose leaf tea leaves not that low brow stuff in tea bags where they rip you off by only putting 1 or 2 grams of tea of lower quality tea leaves ground up funny into weirdly small bits of tea leaves, almost reminding me of the reclaim factor floor sweepings from cigarette manufacturing plants that is collected and added to cigarettes, pretty gross if you ask me.

Tea Hot Water Temperatures & Brewing Time

The temperature & time you brew your tea leaves influences the flavor, aroma, taste, smell & nutrition of the resulting tea beverage, though adding stuff like sugar will more strongly affect the nutritional qualities.

I recommend green tea brewed straight with 175-185 F or 79 to 82 C for about 2 minutes, enjoyed straight with nothing added.

Black tea can be brewed with full on 100 C or 212F rolling boil hot water for 3 to 5 minutes

White tea like green tea, so 175-185 F or 79 to 82 C for about 1 to 2 minutes, but I don't like white tea

Oolong is really good, it does well brewed at 195 F or 90 C for 2 to 3 minutes!

History of Tea Geography

Native to Eastern Asia, the origin of tea near Irrawaddy River, the natural home of tea plants which through trade & cultivation spread west and east over a 2000+ km longer longitudinal extent from 95°-120°E & a nearly 2000km long extent north to south from 29°N to 11°N, covering many countries in Asia with terraced hill side tea plantations where the leaves have been hand picked before drying for thousands of years.

Tea Varietals Vary

Like fine wine, where & when the tea grows, as well as how its processed determines the qualities, flavors, aromas, tastes, smells, and even how its brewed, at what water temperature and how long in terms of being in the hot water will also affect the flavor, taste, aroma, smell or experience of drinking the tea. The set & setting of where the tea is made, how it is served and even your mental state upon consuming it will further alter the tea drinking experience.

Boiling Hot Water

English black tea the only type that should be brewed using rolling boil hot water, since brewing green, white or oolong tea with boiling hot water would produce bitter tannic flavors that are not considered pleasant by most people. My personal favorite is high quality green tea brewed at 175 F for about 5 minutes, where the the tea to water ratio produces an almost bread like savory umami flavor aroma yummy quality thats hard to describe. Perhaps like really good coffee, really good tea requires dedicated focus, skill, knowledge, patience & an organize timely execution to produce delicious tea.

Use High Quality Fresh Water

Water quality very important in tea making. I use filtered tap water, a kind of fresh water from the Pacific Northwest that has been based through a 3 stage Waterdrop pitched filter cartridge to remove pollutants and other contaminants. The process of infusion in tea making means the hot water acting as a solvent, so pure water extracts more biological components of the tea levels into the resulting infused tea. This is similar to how water quality affects the final quality of beer, or spirits.

Volitional Tea Focus

I even think the intention of the person making it has some kind of spiritual quantum energetic effect on the resulting tea. In another context the amount of human labor involved with tea production and the tea supply chain mean that a lot of human thought dedicated to tea plants & harvesting tea leaves, drying them and deliberately oxidizing them to different extents to produce the main types of tea, and we didn't even touch all the other herbal teas. Speaking of herbs brewed or steeped, thats what gives Gin flavors that Vodka is missing, botanicals, namely dried plant parts steeped in hot solvent, namely mixtures of hot ethanol and water in Gin making or just hot water in caffeine free herbal teas, usually also made from botanicals.

TLDR OP:ED Random Tail Warning

The next section about sugar also hyperbolic in nature & contains a TLDR rant about bad low skilled dangerous car drivers I encounter. In my mind all the ideas are connected, by time and other factors, so one thing makes me thing of many others, like the neutrons in a fission reactor kicking off a chain reaction, when I start writing about one think, the hyperlink searching on wikipedia takes me down rabbit trails of knowledge & information for hours.

My mind a complicated mix of information about the world that looks decades of daily reading for hours to populate. My dreams are often complicated stories with narratives and characters where I watch in third person trying to make sense of what is going on. I have never dreamed of sugar, but regularly dream of drinking & eating things that contain sugars. How much tea or coffee should someone drink? Who knows! Everyone is different! Usually experts that give advice are spouting off generalizations that don't apply to everyone. An overweight adult going to be much more sensitive to sugars or added sugars than a rapidly developing active child, so there is not one sized fits all dosing recommendation for foods or drugs, in medicine its usually about how many milligrams per kg of body weight. I am surprised that ethanol or alcohol is widely legal while cannabis is not. Then again I. think LSD should be legally available by prescription at a pharmacy for micro-dosing.

Sugar A Dangerous Drug Widely Abused

When abused, sugar causes obesity, diabetes, heart diseases, kidney failure & brain damage. There is more confusion about sucrose & fructose & high fructose corn garbage or that oily goofy GMO corn extract HVCS that has to be metabolized by the liver exclusively since no other cells in the human body can do anything with fructose. This means HFCS causes liver damage or non-alcoholic fatty liver or liver inflammation. Thus the people who make & sell HCFS are criminal evil sickos who are knowingly harming the public & should be publicly executed as HFCS should be banned & outlawed since its more toxic than Alcohol or Ethanol & more dangerous to public health that LSD, Cocaine or Heroin and right up there with Fentanyl in terms of dangerous to the general public. Food manufacturers add sugars to processed & ultra processed foods and sugar in the labels of the ingredients printed on the bag or box, known by 56 different names. You read that correctly, the food manufactures use 56 different names for added sugars in the ingredients listing.

Please Do Not Add Sugar to Tea

Adding sugar to tea or coffee will activate your brains nucleus accumbens or the pleasure center of the brain causing a dopamine hit like a small child thumb activating content streaming on a smartphone or tablet, which almost all experts claim is bad for the Childs brain development & has horrendous negative effects on their social intelligence.

Sugar A Metabolic Drug

I am saying that when you add sugar to tea or coffee your making it more like a drug like cocaine since sugar has been proven to be just as addictive as cocaine or heroin, and I even argue in the vain of Dr. Robert Lustig that sugar is a dose dependent toxic with oxidative stress impacts like ethanol or drinking alcohol or alcoholic beverages that adults consume to slow down their brain so they are awake in a dreaming like state of lowered mental function, increasingly towards stupor if they continue drinking until their blood alcohol levels get to 0.1 or higher above the legal limit for drivers in the USA where the BAC limit 0.08 above which a DUI can result if a drunken driver with a BAC higher than 0.08 is pulled over by a police car officer & cited for drunk driving or driving under the influence of an intoxicating alcoholic beverage or cannabis high or getting high from smoking weed or taking other narcotics or psychedelic drugs like coffee or tea, though hardly anyone gets a DUI from driving after drinking coffee, or drinking tea or smoking cigarettes.

Drug Laws Rarely Logical

Thus society has funny non logical legal distinctions about which kind of mind altering substances are ok to consume before driving a car on public roadways. Some people new to driving in America drive worse than typical drunken American drivers who are very experienced at driving. I ask myself sometimes when watching one these low skilled drivers doing dangerous stupid things with their car in traffic "did this person smoke plastic before driving?" or "What on Earth is this person doing?" or "holy goodness, they are about to hit me" forcing me to make a fast on the seat of my pants evasive maneuver. This is why paying attention to safety & situational awareness while driving a car so important. This is also why so many people who try to become school bus drivers fail the driving test and are unable to get a CDL or commercial drivers license.

Bad Actors Execute Evil

Some people are unfit to adopt pets or have children, and other people are bad actors or bad people who do evil things to other people causing harm or murdering, raping, robbing or committing financial fraud, doing scams to defraud others, or polluting to increasing profits.

Low Skill Drivers Make Traffic More Dangerous

Driving a car or any motor vehicle on a roadway is a privilege not a right. Some people are flat terrible drivers incapable of safely operating cars on public roads. I see many drivers who are older from Asian countries like China & India, driving near Seattle, with such low driving skill levels that their basic driving bobs the car repeatedly against the white fog line or yellow lane line. I believe the Washington State Deportment of Licensing is criminally negligent to give some of these people drivers licenses.

Personal Injuries Causes be Other Bad Drivers

My tentacles have been slammed against the gas tank of my motorcycle because some low brow low skips badly skilled driver did something stupid in my lane of travel, like turning right from left turn lane while I was traveling straight ahead, forcing me to grab the front break so hard the front suspension noses down & by body shifts forward rapidly shoving my balls right into the gas tank producing stars in my vision levels of pain that nauseating and disorienting, forcing me to pull over and waste time because some dumb jerk can't make sense of which lane is for which lane of travel, even though its screen printed in size 50000 font on the roadway with white epoxy on blank asphalt with arrows anyone can understand, which lane turns left, which lane goes straight and which lane turns right, and there are also pole mounted white on green sines with the same direction of travel information.

Low Skilled Drivers Are Distracted (Often by Smartphones)

This means some low skill drivers are not paying attention, and many bad drivers causes accidents they are sometimes not involved in, by acting as chaos generating catalysts of car accidents. Some times people on bicycles jut out into the intersection when someone is turning their car, and cause the driver to make an evasive maneuver that results in ancient with another vehicle as the bicycle rider rides away. Some pedestrians also walk right into on coming traffic slowly with smug look on their face and arrogant body language and in my weak flesh I actually want to run them over, but never do, nor would I ever do something evil like that, though I have asked nicely if they would speed or or get out of the way, and have liberally used the horns of my vehicles to communicate similar.

Carry Self Protection as a Driver

I keep an aluminum bat near me while driving in case I need one when encountering a drunk driver and it precipitates a road range incident or similar. This bat has saved my life a few times during altercations with whacked out weirdos in traffic. I have been driven off the roadway by some selfish moron driver who just changes lanes into my lane without looking. I have people pull out into my lane travel without looking, forcing me to stab the brakes & rapidly decelerate, and I watch them, their face and eyes, they don't even look and just pull out & are often obviously foreign, probably new to driving and or not from around here.

Biased Observations Not Racism

That is not racism, it's a bias from repeated daily observations while out driving in the real world, and nearly everyone locally that I have talked with about this agrees that Asian & Indian older people are terrible drivers! They have no history with driving vehicles. The come from non-car countries that only just recently started selling cars to the general public. Their parents did not own or drive cars. They didn't ride in cars when growing up. They therefore have few mental general models about how to safely operate a vehicle properly on a roadway with other motorists. These low skill driers get on the freeway going way too slow, which is highly dangerous more than speeding above the speed limit when getting on the freeway.

Some People Should Not Drive

I could ramble on for hours about all the dumb things I see people doing with the cars in traffic, but I bet with good certainty that these are the kinds of people that add sugar to their tea and coffee. I don't, I don't add sugar to my tea or coffee. When I am talking about showing other people love & respect, I really mean it, but that does not mean that everyone is fit to pilot or drive a vehicle on public roads.
