UPF kills more people than all gun crimes, all other forms of crime, all wars, all pandemics, UPF the most deadly thing worldwide in part because most people don't understand the risks of eating UPF or ultra processed foods. In this way many toxic or poisonous substances enter people's bodies after they eat UPF items from the shelving on the inside core of grocery stores or supermarkets.
All the real food that's been food in traditional healthy diets around the outside edge or border of supermarkets or grocery stores, eggs, bacon, fish, chicken, beef, pork, milk, nuts, seeds, leafy greens, fruits, veggies, salads, the perishables that are really full of vitamins with high bioavailability, nutrient dense real whole natural colorful tasty food that has been a part of traditional home cooked meals for thousands of years.
PFAS or forever chemicals, tailpipe emissions from traffic fumes or smog, artificial or synthetic chemicals added to ultra processed foods, ionizing radiation, UV from the Sun because the ozone layer depleted from CFC's leaking from old AC's to hair spray cans or similar sources, people's health being damaged by pollutants in air and water, but the big source personal hygiene products, hair care products, cleaning products, lawn and garden chemicals, spray paint, VOC, indoor air pollution, second hand smoke, tobacco use, alcohol or cannabis abuse, toxic chronic stressful thinking, emotional negativity, it's obviously not one thing, but what we eat and drink the largest input of chemicals into the body by far.
Let food become your medicine, since many unhealthy foods cause diseases, the opposite also true, that eating a whole foods plant-based diet can reverse diseases caused by eating processed junk foods like UPF.
A UPF means a food in a colorful bag or box with a long list of ingredients with some chemical names that are hard to pronounce and things in the ingredients that you do not have at home and would never personally cook with, items like Oreo cookies that would be very difficult to make at home using common ingredients of a home pantry.
Cooking with ingredients from scratch at home takes a little time, a little concern, a little love, a special touch, recipes handed down, dishes to clean, but home cooked meals are precious and special and tend to be more nutritious and mostly devoid of the toxic or questionable things added to fast food, junk food, candy and many other UPF items on the shelves of the center of a typical grocery store or supermarket.
Americans are some of the fattest sickest people in the world largely because of the SAD or standard American diet which is comprised of up to 73% UPF ultra processed unhealthy foods. Where this western industrial diet adopted worldwide, peoples in these international locals are also becoming fatter and sicker from eating UPF regularly, like Coca Cola or Dorito chips made with industrial chemical processing like rape seed oil high in trans fats and omega 6 inflammatory fats called vegetable oil when that title very misleading.
There are no "real vegetables" in the so called unhealthy ultra processed oil, made with heat, pressure, acids, bases, undergoing ultra processing to become a bland neutral cheap cooking oil that I would never cook with. Cheap cooking oil the number 1 thing making people fatter and sicker other than added sugar or HFCS or high fructose corn syrup, while artificial colors and preservatives are the major source of carcinogens in diet, we find dioxins and other forever chemicals like PFAS in ultra processed foods made using industrial chemistry and strange chemical additives, with the US FDA approving more than 10,000 such chemical food additives that are not food and unhealthy to consume.
