Apple M2 Silicon (ARM) (SOC) 

5nm TSMC chipset energy efficiency & compute performance per watt leadership in unified memory stacked SOC package chip enabling better battery life & much better computational performance, the M2 made using ASML deep UV computer controlled mirror bounce optics since lenses cannot give the required precision at such short wavelengths or with such high energy photons, the deep UV needed to achieve the optical precision for TSML latest advanced 5nm processing node chipset IC SOC fab manufacturing technology. 

June 2022 Apple unveiled M2 with more features & better performance than M1 or anything offered by Intel, AMD, Samsung or others. M2 an next-generation SOC or system on chip with a unified computer architecture that blends the CPU and GPU cores with Cache & System DRAM for higher bandwidth gaming & video editing performance, with up to 3.9x better video performance & 7.1x faster image processing. 

The unified memory pool enables all SOC modules to access the memory without moving & copying data between each component, which boosts compute performance while minimizing energy consumption & thermal heat loading the SOC or its fan cooled heatsink in the MacBook Pro M2, while the M2 air employees fan-less cooling at lower TDP levels. 4 performance CPU core enable fast signal threaded performance, while the 4 high-efficiency cores enable better battery life, together all 8 cores produce great multi-treaded performance.

20 billion transistors, memory bandwidth of 100GB/s, the M2 1.4x faster than M1, with 18% better CPU, 35% better GPU & 40% faster Neural Engine. M2 also 20% faster than M1 in multi-threaded performance according to Geekbench testing. M2 chip clock at 3.49 GHz vs 3.2 GHz in M1, while M2 has 10-core GPU vs 8-core GPU of M1. In the MacBook Air, the M2 scored 1919 or 12% faster than M1 in single-core performance, while multi-core performance in M2 earns score of 8928 or about 20% faster than M1 at 7419 respectively. Metal benchmark shows M2 at 30627 vs 21001 of M1.

M2 so power efficient, MacBook Pro & MacBook Air have 2X longer battery life compared to the prior generation Intel chip models. M2 more energy efficient than any other chip Apple has released. SOC secure enclave managing Touch ID & the SSD storage controller features AES encryption that is faster & more secure, while using less energy than the T2 solution chip with Intel chipset models. 

The means M2 enhanced Apple MacBooks are class leading in energy compute efficiency, battery life unmatched by any other similar computer, in a very sleek, beautiful package with two USB-C ports with bidirectional power flow, so you can charge the MacBook or use the MacBook to charge your iPhone or Apple Watch. The Rosetta software enables some classical software to work on newer ARM architectures M1 & M2 Apple computers.

Early this morning I utilized our new M2 MacBook to edit a 6 min 4K YouTube video summarizing our daily adventure to meet up with Meg's dad Alan at Kaosamai Thai Restaurant in Fremont, Seattle, Washington, United States of America :) Yesterday. We even used the DJI Mini 2 drone to do some panoramic imaging & Quick Shot Rocket Mode video captures in this YouTube video
