Facial Hair Shaving

The Procedure

1. Electric grooming shaver for the rough cut

4. Homemade coconut oil & sugar scrub to clean up after shaving.

I put more energy into cleaning up my face after the "big shave" than I have in months of operating a beard. 

Extended Thoughts

Having a large facial beard is not without issues that need constant attention. When you have a large beard around your mouth, you have to be very careful when eating to keep food from sticking to your beard. 

If you plan on kissing your special someone with any regularity, keeping your beard well cleaned up and groomed with beard oil is a good idea. A generous coworker and friend of mine gave me some really nice smelling essential oil based beard oil to help keep my facial carpeting in good order :)

Strange Motivation


After months with a beard & inspiration from a chance encounter with two very talented sales guys (Yaakov & Tom) selling highly overpriced Japanese Venofye products at the Southcenter Mall in Tukwila Wa, USA. Inspired by the encounter, I even ordered up some special ingredients to custom manufacture a skin repairing serum. Meg photographed my face before, during and after the shaving event, including the next day. You can tell from the photos that I do not wear makeup. Lots of small defects can be seen in my facial skin that some people try to cover up in order to look more beautiful. 

I am more interested in helping skin issues resolve by aiding the natural skin recovery processes. Instead of buying designer cosmetics, I researched how to make a facial serum for the under eye area came upon a simple three ingredient formulation outlined below.

Coconut Sugar Facial Exfoliating Moisturizing Scrub 

Mix 2 parts sugar to 1 part warm soft coconut oil in a small glass bowl with a metal spoon. To make enough for a few cleanings, I mixed 2 tablespoons of organic cane sugar with 1 tablespoon of organic coconut oil in a small glass bowl. I used 22 seconds in the microwave to warm the coconut oil to softer state of make mixing the sugar into it easier.

To use simply rub it onto your face in a gentle circular motion to help sluff off dead skin cells and junk on your facial skin. The abrasive sugar crystals are the grit the helps clear the gunk while the coconut oil moisturizes your skin. I used warm water to clean off the mixture after applying it.

Facial Repair Serum 

  • Vitamin E Oil PURE Organic d-alpha tocopherol 30,000 IU
  • Squalane, 100% Pure Moisturizer Face Oil
  • Essential Oil of Lavender
  • Glass Bottles + Glass Eye Dropper :: Chemistry Lab  Glass (Cobalt Blue)

    Formulation Ratio

    14ml Vit. E mixed with 9.5ml Squalane & 0.20ml (4 drops) Lavender Essential Oil
Use on freshly cleaned skin

Apply 5 drops to skin before applying moisturizer

Weight loss, losing weight fast, diet plans, food concepts, weight reduction, calorie restriction, fasting, low glycemic index foods, staying hydrated, getting enough physical activity, not sitting too much to prevent clots & reduce stroke risk associated with blood pooling up in the legs while sitting.

Lifestyle comprises many facets of the way that a person chooses to live, with a culture we each automatically learned and internalized from our parents and friends, piers, coworkers and every bit of media we have ever listened to or seen. A sea of ideas to the tune of more than 200 TB of concepts enters the Human mind during or formatic years that influence how we make lifestyle choices with food culture, movement culture & activities, choices of work, types of decisions, shopping preferences, tastes, desires, hopes, ambitions, dreams etc.

A sound mind, the mind of a sane person, can be conceptually divided into 56 areas or domains of thought that govern all aspects of the way that person's brain & body executes interacting with the world throughout life. A small difference like a powerful ideas can radically alter the trajectory of a person's life. Finding "God" for examples can have a transformative effect on a person.

Body Mass Index or BMI is a rough estimate of physical fitness that tells someone very little about their health, other than if they have a healthy body weight range for their height. You can be thin and very unhealthy or fat and very unhealthy or thin and very healthy or fat and very healthy.

Think about the chemistry of your food and the input stream of chemicals into your body from what you eat and drink. A raw uncooked carrot for example contains more than 14,000 bio-molecules that have an interesting complex interaction with the gut flora of a human who eats and digests the carrot, turning the carrot into thoughts while oxidizing its carbon in the lungs. Human breath in oxygen laced nitrogen air and breathe out carbon dioxide laced nitrogen air, we oxidize carbon to make thoughts and the energy we need to move and thing.
