Not all vehicles are worth buying, unreliable means they are annoying to own, always breaking down, in the shop being repaired, expensive to keep running when they are working, depreciated quickly, lower quality, smoke & mirrors, why overpay for a fancy brand that with no real benefits, not actually premium, since premium implies better & if it were better it would be more reliable.
Tesla is one of the most expensive cars to repair and maintain. Seems like a great value, a new model Y for under $40K, but if you buy one after a few years that screen that controls everything, if it breaks those costs nearly $4000 to repair. Tires for many models of Tesla, a set of 4 tires, can cost over $2400. When the battery pack or motor magnets weaken to an unacceptable level of low performance down the road, the cost of replacing the battery or motor will vastly exceed the depreciated value of your Tesla then. Special additional EV taxes, aluminum hard to repair makes repairs more expensive so car insurance for Telsa also costs more, oh BEV registrations in WA can be over $900 annually with two special taxes added since driving a BEV means no gasoline sales taxes paid, so WA State imposes EV charges on license registrations.
All the same can be said for any newer BEV, expensive to own & operate, completely negating any gas price savings from driving the EV. In other words, once you pay for all the electricity, it will drive your home utility prices way up too, all that EV battery charging 100kWh pack $14 each time added to your electric bill. Watch "Why I sold my Tesla" videos on YouTube. Only Tesla can work on your car, anti-right to repair scam, as no third-party mechanic or you can get parts or procedures for working on your Tesla, that you paid for and own, though I officially recommend against buying one. Get a Lexus Hybrid if you want something premium & ultra fuel efficient, like RX450h.
Ford & Nissan dual-clutch transaxle & CVT (Continuous Variable Transaxles) unreliable, break down & then cost almost $10,000 to replace. Mercedes, BMW, any of these so-called luxury vehicles cost a fortune to maintain & repair & depreciate rapidly because of it. The only actual luxury cars worth your money are made by Toyota under the Lexus brand. Jeep a pile of junk, Stellantis owns all these brands that make garbage vehicles, nothing like Toyota. Even Honda is going downhill in terms of quality, merging with Nissan a terrible idea.
Lexus LFA with Yamaha tunes V8, that is what I am talking about! That is big daddy Toyota mopping the floor of the automotive industry showing other automakers "How it's done correctly" Clean white bright floors at Toyota factories, bright lighting, exceedingly high-quality standards, the entire line will stop to fix any issue that arises so that every vehicle made by Toyota as good as they can make it, though even Toyota biffs & makes mistakes, such as Tacoma models with frame rails that rust out easily becoming Taco Tacoma when the frame rails rust through & the truck folds up like a taco.
If you buy a Toyota Hybrid, make sure to drive it regularly, at least 3 times per weak for at least 30 minutes going faster than 15 MPH, as sitting around in storage for weeks or months or years, they drain the hybrid battery & 12v accessory battery, especially if your smart key within 30 feet, as this not only increases the risk of a relay attack to steal your vehicle, it also turns more of the vehicle on, since the key nearby tells the computer the vehicle about to be driven, that ECU smart key LTE modem build in uploading vehicle data to the manufactured, it also never turns off. Most vehicles produced after 2014 with a Start Button & no physical key, when you "Turn them Off, that is a soft off, not a hard off" When you turned the key in the ignition module in the steering column of your older vehicles off, that was a hard off, as in no power then being drawn from the vehicles battery until you lock the doors, then only a small pulse drawn to activate the locks, beep the horn & blink the lights, then it's cold off.
Smart Key System on Your Car, Store Key in Metal Box w/ Metal Lid
Metal box with metal lid, store your keys in this. That makes a faraday cage around the key, so your keys do not talk to your car & criminals cannot do a relay attack reading the key signal to program their hacking device to unlock your car & drive it away without breaking the window or making much noise, usually to cars parked outside between 2am & 4am, when most people are sleeping.
