Caffeine Nootropic & Psychoactive : Coffee or Tea

For thousands of years humans have been drinking Coffee and Tea for nootropic effects, combining cognitive and mood enhancement with reduced fatigue and low toxicity.

Brewed in hot water popular beverages (Tea & Coffee) have been part of human culture for so long that they are not even thought of as nootropics even though they are the OG nootropics, long before Piracetam was created artificially using chemical engineering or organic chemical synthesis.

Stop Thinking About Pills as Vitamins or Supplements

Eating a whole food, plant based, natural organic diet with fish, meat, chicken & dairy of the highest quality sprinkled in. In nuts, seeds, fish, the omega 3 oils are more bioavailable, as are all the vitamins from whole raw vegetables, from seeds, fruits, berries, leafy greens and non-starchy root veggies.

Eating a traditional diet (Meat, Fat, Nuts, Seeds, Berries) without any processed food, all prepared from raw ingredients, with no artificial substances, proven to make people feel better, healthier, happier, lose weight, have improved stamina, improved sleep, improved cardio function, improved eyes, improved skin, slower aging, longer living, like people that eat the Traditional Japanese Diet in Japan for example. Rice not a metabolic carbohydrate damaging substance unless consumed in excess. The same can be said for bread or pasta eating in very small serving sizes in combination with healthy fats and proteins.

In Japan small amounts of rice are mixed with raw fish called sushi, & some fresh thinly sliced seaweed or veggies, where omega 3 fish fat a significant part of their total calories, & where raw fish protein another significant part of their total calories, so the rice does not dominate their dietary total calories. In other words, it is considered normal to eat much smaller service sizes during a meal in Japan. Green tea high in EGCG & L-Theanine and lower in caffeine also an integral part of Japanese food culture.

This means fresh grinding coffee beans at home and brewing at 185 F hot water, not some sugar added milkshake drink from Starbucks which is like drinking a candy bar metabolically.

Caffeine works by binding to and blocking adenosine receptors, promoting wakefulness by stopping inhibitory tiredness promoting adenosine from binding to its receptor as the endogenous ligand of such.

This means the caffeine from coffee and tea enhances mental concentration, mental reaction times, situational awareness vigilance, and promoted elevated mood.

Green tea L-Theanine amino acid, which is not in coffee. This means green tea has enhanced positive effects with less of the less desirable effects of excess coffee consumption. L-Theanine synergistically interacts with caffeine to make a super nootropic entourage effect, giving green tea an edge. This means all the positive cognitive effects with less anxiety or jittery effects of excess coffee.

L-Theanine flattens the dose response curve of caffeine, elongating caffeine's effects while also reducing peak effect, softening the jittery peak or anxiety part, while making the cognitive enhancement effects last longer. If you do not like green tea, you can take an L-Theanine supplement with your black coffee to see what I mean.

Ginko Biloba another ancient nootropic, increasing in popularity today. Consumption promotes an increase in blood flow away from the organs to the brain and periphery of the body. EGb761 was show to have good efficacy at stopping or slowing down cognitive decline, improving behavior, improving function and global change in elderly people suffering from cognitive impairment or dementia.

Lions Mane mushrooms are trending as an emergent nootropic. Promoting NGF or nerve growth faction in the body, this promotes nerve repair in the brain CNS and reversal of neuropathy and improvement in sensory sensitivity, or improved organ function. NGF nerve growth factor repairs damage nerves, having broadly positive effects throughout the body.

NGF also important for the development and survival of neurons in the brain and promotes neuron growth & enhanced dendrite formation rates. Up-regulating NGF can repair neural networks in the brain, enhancing cognitive performance, important for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease or Parkinson's diseases for example. Erinacines & Hericenones in Lions Mane are substances shown to provide the positive effects. Promoting increase neuron plasticity, these also improve NGF formation, but also protecting the myelin sheaths "insulation" along the axon of the neuron, when prevent cross talk associated with MS or multiple sclerosis.

Cordyceps mushrooms contain cordycepin which improve ATP synthesis in cell mitochondria, improving physical and mental health.

Adaptogens are like nootropics, but they address body energy, hormone balance, and mental clarity. Rhodiola contains more than 140 active substances, but the more active Salidrosides & Rosavin are known to reduce fatigue, lower stress, and improve recovery. But Rhodiola can improve mental function, attention and mental processing speed by up-regulating dopamine and serotonin synthesis in the brain. Developing a tolerance to the effect of Rhodiola common, and insomnia another well known side effect.

Bacopa Monnieri or Brahmi în India, where this plant is native, while studies show consumption improve the speed of attention, boosting cognitive performance. You have to take this supplement for many weeks to notice the effect that builds up gradually.

Ashwagandha another herb known to balance cortisol levels helping the body adapt to stress, yet other studies show neurogenesis promoting the growth and development of neural networks in the brain. In the body it shows improved endurance and reduced fatigue. Improving cardiovascular performance, strength and power, and enhanced recovery.

Creatine very well studied as a popular supplement in fitness, weight training, and athletic performance. Dietary sources are meat, fish, eggs & milk, though the body also makes creatine for muscle growth and recovery by improving ATP regeneration, and this same up regulation in ATP synthesis improve cognitive performance of the brain, since the brain uses a lot of ATP for thinking metabolic processes in neuron mitochondria.

Synthetic Nootropics / Manmade / Chemically Engineered Substances

Modafinil

Armodafinil

Noopept

Noocube Stacks mixing many

I only mention the substances listed above because I do not believe in them, in synthetic drugs, prescription drugs. I think of these as witchcraft or evil manipulation because of all the side effects of small molecule drugs, but also of MAB and PAB because they have broad undesirable effects when used as treatments. This stems from the body being a big liquid flesh sponge where substances that enter the body diffuse across fatty membranes containing light salty water fluids inside cells. That makes the body a giant sponge, the same reason that pollutants harm the body when people are exposed to toxic substances from air or water pollution for example.

Focus on Real Food

Eat a whole natural foods diet without any or no processed or junk foods. I am talking about shopping around the border or outside edge of the grocery store, getting and eating real foods cooked from scratch at home.

I believe when you put time and effort and focus into make foods from scratch the nutritional quality increases in part because you're thinking more about making healthy natural foods from scratch and that influence the kinds of things you buy when you at the grocery store or supermarket.

There is a spiritual significance in food and beverages because they connect all people on Earth with nature, insects, animals, the air, and water all around us, with the environment, with the atmosphere, with the climate and weather.

Let food become your medicine because when you get your nutrient and vitamins form real whole natural foods, they have better bioavailability or your body is more easily able to make use of those nutrient or vitamins when you get them from natural Whole Foods, plants and animals, nuts and seeds and root veggies and leafy greens, herbs and spices.

While vitamins supplements can help when taken with a meal, they are not the same as eating a higher nutritional quality meal with the same vitamin content, though eating a nutritionally balanced diet can be more expensive because of the time it takes to process such & the added cost of buying the highest quality meat & animals fats.

UPF junk foods usually have the best bang for the buck, or are the cheapest foods available, comprising up to 73% of what Americans on the SAD or standard American Diet eat daily as their diets.
