USPS Shipping 15+ day Delay on Amazon.com Item Ordered via Prime Membership

Yes, this is a first world problem. I am not complaining, just amazed that it takes 13+ days for USPS to ship a small low mass package. Item still not delivered as of 8am on Feb 6th 2022! Hey Amazon.com / free 2 day shipping my foot! A 'Prime' example!

Ranked as one of the worst employers to work for, USPS has very interesting technology to track & provide updates on packages in their network, but continues to experience shipping delays & other problems emblematic of inefficient, slow bureaucracy. The US federal government had to inject tons of cash to keep USPS operating its global distribution network. I really like USPS & their offices & staff interacting with the public tend to be very polite & friendly. Generally this long delay experience not typically of a package shipped with USPS. Just a trending topic in my life & on my blog :P

I could have rocket launched a resupply mission on a Falcon 9 to the International Space Station & returned the rocket for refurbishment aboard a ship in the ocean, faster! This a great example of how a lumbering inefficient government run program cannot create service parity performance with private profit motivated free market competitors like UPS & FEDEX or even Amazon's in house shipping & logistics system with those blue panel vans rolling on what looks like passenger car tires.

I called with the tracking number & they said they had it there. The post person who tried to deliver it also left me a note on my porch with instructions. The person who helped me at the post office recognized my voice from the call & got my package & gave me a slip to sign & asked to see my phone ID. She was really nice.  Made in Switzerland on the Box too :) It was really a larger box for such a small item, but upon opening it, I realized why. It was really well protected & included some goodies from the manufacture! A catalog of their other products, a manufactured themed bag & even the box the watch came it came with a logo thing, I am not even sure what it is //  Amazon.com I did not realize your free 2 day shipping could move a package so fast! (sarcasm intended) This example not even the worst. On Amazon.com I order dog food for Mocha the Shi-Tzu & it took 2 months of back & forth with USPS to figure where on Earth that package with 15lbs of food went? The only reason I did not write a blog posting about it, because it was a heavy package during Christmas time or peak shipping season, so I get it, but it literally would make the shipping log above look brief by comparison. Finally the dog package showed up completely mangled & then a few days later another one showed up that I had reorder after not getting the first one for so long. Thankfully the shelf life worked out & Mocha eats the food fast enough that none of it went to waste!
