Tires, Traction, Too Often Overlooked, Truthfully the Terribly Important Issue of Tire Qualities & Performance

Young men who tune their cars often forget the most important part, tires, as these are the interface between the vehicle and the roadway or road surfaces. On pavement, concrete or asphalt, dirt or gravel roads, tires, tread shapes, tread depth, tire temperature, tire polymers, tire reinforcement methods, tire wear rating, tire softness, tire air pressure, tired of thinking about all of this, how about tire diameter, tire thickness as in aspect ratio, or inner rim diameter or tire width, how to mount & balance the tires, how tires are made, how about end of life scrapping of old used tires without enough tread left to be road legal for on-road passenger automobile use in America where a car the only practical way of getting around in most American cities or suburbs surrounding so many cities in the USA, say urban sprawl, drive till you can afford the otherwise astronomically overpriced single family homes close to where your work.

Tricky, in Moto GP, see elite performance motorcycle racing, Isle of Mann TT, carbon ceramic brake rotors are heated red hot by heavy braking forces when approaching corners to slow down, just before cracking the throttle wide open after the corners apex as you straighten out into full acceleration, tires under these extreme conditions are being twisted in every possible way, all that friction causes the tires to heat up, but IR heat soaking from the constantly red hot carbon ceramic rotors also saturates the rims or wheels which the tires are tightly fitted onto with thermal bridging, so as the wheels are heated by IR blasting from the red hot rotors that heat is conducted through the rim to the tire bead, while the inner surfaces of the wheel are heating air inside the tire, causing the tire pressure to rise also, noting pressure, volume and temperature are related in PVT equations. As air in a fixed volume space heated the air pressure rises, in the context of hot rotors heating wheels & tires in Moto GP this is what we see.

How to derive useful insight from Moto GP tire pressure management to improve road car passenger safety, that is where we see TPM tire pressure monitors, battery powered air pressure sensors installed between the rim & tire, that beam RF tire pressure data to the ADAS computer system or ECU, then displayed under Tire settings on the digital dash for the driver. Keeping a tire properly cold pressure inflated to the right PSI listed on the door sill sticker information, that improves tire life & tire performance, maximizing grip & safety.

For normal drivers I suggest using high quality Michelin all season tires with LRR low rolling resistance technology that can improve fuel economy a bit, resulting fuel savings from paying or LRR help to offset the cost of this better technology, also look for a higher tread wear rating in the 900s so you get the most useful life out of your car, truck or SUV tires. I recommend Michelin because they are typically the finest quality available. When it comes to tires, going premium improves safety, saves money & gives better all-season traction performance.

A major environmental concern with car tires comes from tread erosion microplastics. When the tire wearing out the vulcanize synthetic rubber treat breaks down and wears away progressively over many tens of thousands of miles of operation. Where does all that tire tread eroded go? everywhere. Another problem comes from the reality that a used car tire with depleted tread usually only the tread needs replacing, the core of the tire, 99% of it, are still good, if inspected & determined to be so, then a passenger car tire could be professionally re-treaded, as they do in Germany, reducing tire core waste, which is somewhat like e-waste in that it can be hard to recycle all the way, through reusing old car tires for bumpers in many applications, or grinding them up to make track & field surfaces for middle school, high school & college PE & sports use cases, noting that many people in communities around Schools of all kinds go to walk on the track when school not in session or closed.

Twisting rubber hard with engine & motor torque never been more complicated :) More Americans keeping their cars longer now, cost of new cars, housing, food, fuel + marginalized incomes vs currency inflation, a quadruple slammer of stress, so more people end up having to replace car tires, making this an increasingly relevant topic to consider #Trending

Please understand, this is not an advertisement or ad for Michelin, Continental AG, Bridgestone, Kumho, Goodyear, Nexen, Dunlop, Firestone, Hankook, Yokohama, Toyo, BFGoodrich, Falkan, Cooper, Sumitomo, Pirelli, there are many good tire manufacturers. Key search terms are "best quality tire, finest quality tire, best car tires, compare car tire brands, which car tires last the longest, which car tires are most durable, which car tires have best all season performance, which car tires have best summer performance, stud less snow tires, snow tires without studs, best snow tires, best all season tires, best truck tires, best SUV tires, use plain language and ask your question, you can ask a chatbot too, see how they aggregate search results to show you a summary of market options to investigate without doing hours of research on your own, multiplying speed at which you find an excellent solution, like my personal favorite, Michelin Energy Saver A/S or Michelin Defenders
