No difference between Christian Faith in God & the secular science of Astronomy or Physics. Everything on Earth is interconnected, you have to think systematically about Earth observation, its atmosphere, the oceans, the landscape, satellites that image the earth in many different spectral ranges to study the gas composition of the atmosphere using interferometry & multi-spectral imaging of the gases in the Atmosphere that influence green house gas effects, ozone layer function, water vapor content, weather, methane, nitrogen oxides, data about what's going on with CO2 in the carbon cycle & how much carbon combustion releases with human emissions from the start of industrialization that are heating up the atmosphere.
Throughout history peoples who help the ability to explain the seasons enabled planning agriculture planting of crops & thus producing the base of civilization, excess food calories so that human people are free to do something other than hunt, gather or farm foods.
When NASA sent Men to Earth's Moon with Film Cameras in the 1960's the most popular image ever recorded on film known as Earth Rising was captured by astronaut traveling facing the Earth with his camera when he snapped a film photograph of what the Earth actually looks like from space!
Humans have been sending satellites with camera sensors CCD & later CMOS with amazing resolution far greater than your smartphone camera or similar DSLR. With aerospace budgets at NASA they were able to buy the entire imaging chip wafer from the chip fab & use specialized ASIC circuits to combine the output of all the imaging sensors on the wafer to get better than human eye resolutions, thousands of megapixels, spy satellites and spy balloon imaging systems with giant optics are similar with huge imaging sensors of amazing resolution.
This means unmatched visual evidence galore that irrefutable of what the Earth, Moon, Sun & other imaged celestial objects look like. This direct physical evident cannot be explained away by ignorant conspiracy theories about a supposed "Flat Earth" when it's clearly obviously and beyond any rational debate roughly spherical in shape like a ball or sphere, when the Earth, Moon & most other Stars & Planets in Space are spherical in shape. Galelieo Galelie was able to document with his optical telescope the spherical shape, boundaries of shadow and light on the surface of the moon & published extensively explaining the shape of the moon & its spherical surface features.
Anyone claiming to know that the "Earth is Flat" is attempting to control their reality & their interpretation of reality, flat out rejecting science & faith at the same time. These deranged fools claiming that the Earth is Flat have no evident about where the ship are going when they appear to disappear after going 10 km away from the sea shore. If the Earth was flat, why does it orbit the Sun? Why would a flat Earth not fall down? Does the Sea water fall off the edge of the Flat Earth disc?
The internet gives anyone, including mentally ill people the ability to post anything, so that means people will post personal opinions with no factual evidence, as facts, when in fact what they are posting amounts to disinformation, misinformation, fake news, lies or confusion. I am promoting facts from physics and chemistry where international collaboration between many counties unites scientists all around the world with the scientific method of inquiry and experimental design, tests & experiments, data collection and analysis to understand phenomenon happening in reality, so that we can figure out how the world works in order to continue improving everything. This is where technology comes from, the applications of knowledge generated by science.
Stop spreading conspiracy theories, you do not know any special secretes about reality that contradict all abundant amount of evidence collected by NASA and the ESA and other Space agencies about the shape or appearance of the Earth. If you cubically claim on social media to believe that the Earth is Flat then you are making yourself out as a fool, espousing non-sense without any basis in any evidence of any kind, just a theory based on an old idea that was long ago replaced with the science of Astronomy! If you want to delude yourself into believe nonsense conspiracy theories, they you are as foolish as the dishonest politicians that most people dislike.
If you say stupid things, like Forest Gump said, stupid is as stupid does, so think about it, what you believe and compare it to what you actually know. Consider that most of what you think you know you learned from other people, not from first person observations. Most of what you learned in school was because other people taught you, what you read was what other people wrote. What you watched is content that other people produced. The foods you eat are cultivated, harvested, cleaned, shipped and sold by other people. Stop claiming to know things that are impossible.
No scientists are claiming to understand why the Big Bang happened. That's where Faith and Science align. Christians claim that God is responsible for the Big Bang and no one can prove otherwise. Science does not seek to explain the origins of the Universe because its impossible to even know what is going on since it takes billions of years for the light from distant objects in the universe to even reach the Earth.
NASA brought moon rocks back from Earth's Moon during the Apollo missions & they exist in National Science facilities today where scientists study the composition of moon rocks using analytical chemical testing techniques, laboratory procedures, using inorganic & organic chemistry science & scientific instruments, tools & testing procedures & experiments & experimental design, testing & other techniques to study the composition of the lunar rock, its physical & chemical properties and other aspects of the minerals returned from the Moon.
Sadly pushing back against science deniers does not work. The Flat Earth society is a cultural movement & there will always be people who believe whacky things, just as there are deeply mentally ill people, people with rare genetic disorders, people who have special needs, disabled people, autistic people, people are all different and some people come to strange conclusion about how reality works.
Its good to be skeptical of Government when the government publishes crazy nonsense like the Food Pyramid or writes insane things on food packages like "This is the same as dairy not treated with RBST" when the people who treat cows with recombined bovine growth hormone obviously affect the cows hormone balance in order to increase milk production to increase profits of industrial companies who give cows genetically engineered biologics like RBST, and that is not at all the same as raw organic milk they way milk has been produced from grass fed cows & sheep for thousand of years before RBST was invented by scientists paid for by industry looking to increase profits.
When crony capitalism protects polluting industries that release toxic air & water pollutants, you have ample reason to be skeptical of government. I am reminded of Camp Lajune where toxic water pollution sickens thousands of military personal as these toxic chemicals dumped into the water supply ended up causing all sorts of preventable diseases, sickness & suffering and is not the subject of a class action lawsuit by thousands of people harmed by these industrial chemical pollutants that were in the potable water consumed in drinks & food, while showering, doing laundry, washing, cleaning, doing dishes, where people were regularly & repeatedly exposed to toxic industrial water pollutants in the water supply, that had toxic effects on these people.
Science deniers cannot explain air or water pollutants or toxicology or physiology or medicine or chemistry or pharamcology or any other formal science because their options are not based in facts, empirical knowledge, or anything verifiable or factual, axiomatic or otherwise actually true. The problem with social media is that it gives everyone a public voice, so anyone can say anything about anything. This means that much worse than flat earth theories are spread.
Did you ever hear about the Tide Pod eating challenge that send more than 10,000 children to the local hospital ER after they watched the Tide Pod eating videos & then proceeded to go eat Tide Pods of laundry detergent that has toxic effects on the human digestive system with phosphate poisoning. I think the people who posted the tide pods eating video should be tried, convicted of gross manslaughter & publicly executed for gross public harm for harming all of those children. I believe that anyone who posts harmful content should be held legally and criminally accountable for causing harm.
I furthermore think the social media companies are negligent to not take down harmful content. There is plenty of blame & legal negligence to be shared between the guilty parties who post the harmful content & the people who host & enable sharing of this toxic information that hurts & harms other people who watch it. Furthermore the real thing is what we are allowing our children to watch online, not just tide pod challenges, this is symptom of a much larger problem, a systemic problem with social media where children are bulling other children online in ways that schools are unable to address.
We are literally in the Wild West with social media because its too early in history & people have not been holding the internet in their hands with 5G & 4G LTE long enough for our cultural intelligence to adapt to persistent internet access that we can carry around in our pockets or wear on our wrists with latests Apple Watch or Samsung Gear, with smart clothing, smart shoes, smart jewelry like the Oura Gen. 3 ring or similar information apparel.
With YouTubers making incomes from posting non-sensical mindless content, we are forging new employment opporutnies without a historical parallel, or we are making whole new industries with the internet that never existed before. With search engines & e-commerce, it's so wild west online that people can use bitcoins to buy literally anything, including illegal drugs, stinger surface to air missile systems, kidneys, literally anything online. This is really hard for any one government to address because the Internet is a worldwide network of computers connecting that no one country can control, though most of the internet traffic does go though the United States its really in a way "the World Wide Wild West" as Meg' calls it/ mostly unregulated or uncontrolled with no central body of institution to limit harm. This means that all kinds of corruption, scams & lies happen online.
I purchased a "Titanium reader glasses from a link on Twitter, and why the made in China and shipped from china reader glasses are good, there is no titanium of any kind, they are entirely made of plastic"/ I was similarly scammed by a GPS tracking puck, that requires a 2G SIM card to function, though the video promoting it said it will work with 4G LTE, that is not true. So I got burned twice from these scam product promotional videos on twitter and will no longer buy anything I see promoted in such content because of being scammed twice in a row. It's good to be skeptical with deals that seem unreal online, often they are a kind of crime, a scam.
There are scam call centers in India that scam elderly people with confusing methods that exploit their lack of knowledge about internet scams and their overly trusting nature developed in an era of American history where most people were honest reasonable hard working fair people who would never cheat someone else, who helped their neighbors, a generous generation who like Mr. Rogers who really were loving kindness in every way they were able. These are the people who designed appliance that last a lifetime, who designed long lasting durable appliances before lifecycle analytics which is just a euphemism for designed obsolesce so that things you buy fail just after the warranty expires.
