Fast Review
They came mostly charge out of the box, fit like a glove, sound amazing, stay connected to my iPhone from over 100 ft away though building materials blocking the signal pathway.
While Doing Elliptical
They stayed in my ears well during 20 min of 65-75 RPM 140BPM average 173BPM max, 2.3 mile eq elliptical workout that covered my entire body with sweat as I head the RPM higher towards the last 10 min & tried to keep my heart rate around 158 BPM. I take the first few minutes gentle to warm up & then go medium for the remainder of the first 10 min then speed up until its harder to breath & speak at the same time, till I am cruising & then blast at 83 RPM for the last min as a peak burst to test how high my heart rate will climb, then I watch the recovery time to further analyze my cardio performance which is ok. I have been mostly focusing on weight training recently, so the cardio sprinkled into my workout calendar for toning mostly, or used on demand to lower my blood glucose levels from eating too many carbs or too much sugar for example.
Excellent DSP
The hybrid ANC with transparency mode works surprisingly well. I can easily listen to Pandora streaming EDM music at lower volumes & have a perfectly clear conversation at normal volumes, listen to TV or other people speaking like radio content. I tested then while driving a large school bus with no children onboard & the ANC blocked out the NVH noises, engine sounds & everything except a horn beep or other high intensity impulse noise. Transparency DSP does an excellent job of sound blending the input data from the two microphones with the audio streaming channel. These are my first wireless earbuds with Hybrid ANC so I am very impressed without a better reference.
Makes Sure to Remove Thin Clear Sticker Covering Charging Pads
I forgot to pull the plastic sticker protecting the gold plated battery charging contacts on the Earbuds so they never charged while in the case & started giving me vocal AI low battery warnings that alternated between the left & right unit in my ears, then the right one said it was going to power down & did, causing me to closely examine the unit, noticing that little plastic tab was a film covering the electrical contact pads. So I removed the cover tab from both earbuds and put them in the charging case where they showed a red LED indicating charging underway. I left them in this case for 5+ hours to saturate charge them, then took them with my to the gym of our overpriced apartment last night to workout with Meg as we both hit the elliptical machines at 11pm. We stated up till 1 am energized watching TV with my mom then called it a night. I slept in till 6 am today & stayed in bed hosting still till 6:45 wondering why I was not more sleepy, so I made a nice dark black cup of coffee with nothing added using 20 grams of freshly ground expresso dark roasted coffee beans milled in our Eureka Mignon Notte grinder to a very fine espresso grind that I load in a small red ceramic dish & then having loaded a filter into the 4th gen. Aeropress & mounted the unit above my favorite coffee mug, use the funnel to dump the dish loaded with espresso grind into the unit. I have an electric water kettle heating filtered tap water to 188 F in the background while I am setting everything up so it's ready to pour into the aeropress when I am ready. I add enough hot water to get the 4 mark & then let it drain a little & stir the hot water with the espresso grind for 10 seconds, then rinse the stir rod with hot water from the kettle into the top & fill it again till its almost full then allow it to gravity drip into the cup for 2 minutes & then put the plunger in & give it light pressure to squeeze the remaining water through the filtered grinds to make a very dark black intensely flavored espresso like coffee. Its so hot that I have to add cool water to temperature crash it to 135-140 F, then I enjoy it while listening to Pandora on my laptop through DT770 Pro 250ohm headphones plugged into the 1/8 stereo audio jack on our M2 MacBook Pro that sound amazing even at low volume settings very early in the morning. I listen to music at what I call the lowest enjoyable volume to preserve my hearing.
Slow Charging
Charging takes ~5 hours, which seems really slow, but slow charging enhances the useful life of the tiny ~40mAh limo batteries in each earbud. I plugged the head unit charging case into a high current USB-C cable that was plugged into a 5v 2amp universal charging adapter that's plugged into a 2 conductor 14 gauge flat white extension cable into a standard America 15R 120v AC 60 Hz electrical outlet connected to a breaker switch of 15amps, to the bus bar connected to the power meter & after which local grid step-down transformed from a local 13.5KV substation connection, that's hooked up to a 100KW medium high voltage distribution line to a larger substation that's connected to a 750 KV high voltage power transmission tower line system to power plants & other generation capacity located remotely, large the huge electric hydro power damns in Eastern Washington, natural gas peak-er plants, wind power turbines, solar PV arrays & other sources of electrical energy that we purchase from PSE ~850 to 1250 kWh per month, electricity that makes hot water, hot air, & powers everything else that consumes electricity in our two bedroom + garage luxury apartment.
Audio Performance
They rival my very high end high impedance over-ear headphones for good base, clear precise midrange & bright sharp treble performance. I consider the audio performance very good, like 9.1 out of 10 possible, amazing given the sub $40 total price. They also hold in my ears & are very conformable & touch tap interface relatively intuitive & easy to use. Overall they are an excellent value! I highly recommend them, even though they look kinda dorky in my ears! Smaller earbuds have inferior audio performance, way less runtime per charge, weaker bluetooth performance & it's really a dynamic tradeoff. I like the better sound isolation, hybrid ANC, good fit that holds while working out, excellent strong clear bluetooth audio streams, cell phone call quality & audio performance, exceedingly excellent at this very low price when you compare Samsung & Apple versions of similar products sold at much higher prices!
//If these had a hearing aid mode, they would make excellent low cost high performance hearing-aids!
I spent about an hour researching wireless earbuds since my other pair of Soundcore P3 mini disappeared & I am left with the S20 free set that someone gave me, that have poor battery life & muddy sound. Meg really likes her Soundcore P3i earbuds in white, pairs them with her iPhone & iMac regularly while watching content while I am sleeping to be polite. I have looked high & low & cannot find what happened to my Soundcore P3 mini set kit, thinking they fell out of my pocket or someone stole them at work, IDK.
I wanted a set featuring Bluetooth 5.3 with ultra low latency pairing within 0.05 seconds
+ Longer battery life in non- Hybrid Active Noise Canceling / ANC/ TM mode & decent battery life if the advanced dual mic DSP noise canceling engaged.
These are well reviewed favorably! I perform basic pre-purchase product research with several google searches, YouTube video watching, Amazon review score analysis, comparing many different products of the same class on Amazon, Ebay, Alibaba & other review sites & consider the price, spec, feature, value, tech level, battery life, included technologies, services, device compatibility, audio performance, alternative products & other information to determine if a purchase makes sense for the price value return or use value enjoyment factor. With mass produced electronics like this, you can get a DOA or dead on arrival or EFU early failure unit, or DBU defective battery unit, but the odds are low in the single digit range. People often compare products like this to other alternatives that cost 3-10 more, so you can take their reviews, privileged snobs, with a grain of salt, knowing your probably nothing like them, as discerning or spoiled either //
