Our last purchase of 2022, blessed by Meg the lovely after reviewing the listing on Amazon with me. For $140 after the coupon was applied, $154.13 tax total, its got 90% of the performance of the Dyson V15 at 1/6 the price! The following images tell you all about it! 

I will post a review & comparison to our 2019 Moosoo with its 120w BLDC motor & 6 cell 1800 mAh battery pack thats faded significantly. We decided after tearing down the Moosoo for a deep clean, that a newer better unit would be a worthwhile upgrade & the old MooSoo now a car vacuum cleaner for our 05 & 10 Prii respectively :) 

Pull the trigger once & it turns on into automatic mode. Press the little round button near the bottom of the display to enter manual mode, then using the + or - icons on the LCD to change the power setting. On low (lasting mode) the battery will last 45-60 minutes, on medium (standard mode) 25-30 min, on high (strong mode) it will last about 15 minutes. The default on "Automatic Mode" will auto throttle between the modes & change the ambient color scheme on the display according to the mode. A particle light sensor in the motor head works with the controller to determine the power mode setting. I am excited to tear this unit down for complete analytics & deep cleaning. I highly down the motor 480w, given that 300w motors give 28 Kpa suction in other similar battery electric stick vacuums :) 

The green LED on the front of the motorized brush head illuminate particles on the floor at a very oblique angle, nearly parallel with the floor, slightly downward fasting, producing an effect similar to the Dyson detect laser scanner, without the price premium & correspondingly less polished & less cool, but still nifty, especially at the 6X lower price point!

The user replaceable battery pack slides into the head unit like a power tool battery pack, ^ replacements about $60+ tax. Available via the Amazon seller accessory link for the S7 Vicsonic! 

Dyson claims these cone cyclones are innovative, but they were invented many decades ago in agricultural silos to minimize dust float explosions & nasal irritation of employees working inside, nearby or with these grain storage vessels. 

The click to unlock roller head cleaning was a huge positive selling feature that gave Meg & I a warm fuzzy for cleaver design. 3 ways to charge also fresh. The green LED lighting on the front & one click to start no trigger hold operation sealed the deal! 

6 stage HEPA filtering system with user washable & replaceable filters available on the Amazon seller link for a reasonable price in 3 or 5 packs. I clean all the parts when I down a teardown deep clean, but regularly wash washable filters & screen in our MooSoo 120w BLDC stick vac // 

The features are wonderful given value oriented reasonable price of under $160 USD2022 / amazing actually! 

Let's think about the Air Watts vs Kpa rating vs real world performance & air duct design, cyclone cones, filters, noise reduction, the BLDC motor watts & battery power. 

A 7 cell 18650 battery with 2500 mAh of energy gone in 15 min on Strong mode. So that's a nominal voltage of 25.9 very similar to the motor insides rating, via 3.7vdc nominal voltage per cell. Now watt hours from the voltage 25.9vdc & amp hours 2.5 for 64.75 watt hours. So that 65 watts for 1 hour. If the unit drains the battery in 15 min in the strong (high) setting, then that's 4x faster or about 250 watts continual, not 480 w peak, which probably includes the motor in the brush head. 28 Kpa from a 250w BLDC motor sounds more realistic if we review such units on Alibaba website. In order to equal wall power, a brushless DC motor needs around 50-80 vdc & 1500 watts, but wattage & kilo pascals of vacuum pressure do not tell the entire story, which is also influenced by the motor head, air flow design, filter flow rate & other factors, making a direct conversion from Kpa to Air Watts of suction an artistic science conversion, since air-watts are a non standards institute or SI unit. 

Thank you China! I normally bash CCP in the PRC, but they have one amazing thing, high performance manufacturing at reasonable prices unmatched by any other country on the scale // manufactured landscapes / without china, industrialization & high standards of living at value price points abroad would be impossible! They make the gear we use daily on mass produced scales at cost optimized prices using value engineering & imported laborers in ways that constitute a multitude of modern marvels of applied industrial excellence, especially in the free economic zones. So woot woot & cheers to China for its excellent manufacturing sector that enables cool products like this to exist at reasonable price points! CATL for example not only the largest lithium ion battery maker in China they are also the premier developer of the Na-Ion or Sodium Ion Battery!

Dyson V12 detect & V15 advantages considers at luxury price points of $500 USD & higher

More actual usable air-watts of suction that pull debris up from carpet & flooring more effectively in highly optimized air flow pathways that reduce restriction while also efficiently mutli-stage HEPA filtering the air so the operator does not get flogged with microfine particulate dust that irritating to the sinus & lungs of people & pets & other animals that breathe air, especially birds kept as pets, who are extra sensitive to indoor air pollutants. 

Peizo sensor particulate measurement with SI unit quantification & real time readout on the user facing LCD display makes using these detect equipped units more fun like a video game. The laser particle illuminator casts a scintillation linear beam of green laser light that's fun to look at in low light conditions, enabling vacuuming in darker conditions in the early morning or late at night without turning lighting on. The Dyson motor innovation switched reluctance motor with ceramic main-shaft axel & carbon fiber composite plastic turbine blade that's 5x stronger than steel & half the mass of aluminum. The V12 better because of the click on click off button, where the V15 requires users to hold down the trigger constantly, which sucks in the worst of ways for a vacuum cleaner. This is the engineers at Dyson attempting to increase battery life, since people are more likely to let go of the button when not actively steering the V15 version, where the V12 can be left on when the user cycle their focus to something else temporarily. This difference in real world usability actually makes the V12 slim detect Dyson superior, especially given that is also lower mass or lighter than the V15 & has enough battery life for most household cleaning in one charge. The V15 offers superior suction & filtering performance & its has longer battery life but also weighs more or have a heavier mass & requires users to hold down the tigger the whole time. I dislike that Dyson V15 stuck in automatic throttle mode, so the user cannot control the power level, the peizo particle counter & laser illumination detector work together with the advanced controller to control the motor power level, which is really cool too. I personally cannot justify the higher cost, but actually really like the V12 Slim Detect as runner up for value to the VicSonic S7 mentioned above. If cost not an issue, then get the Dyson V12 Slim Detect, if your on a prospective home buying saving budget & want a decent cordless stick vacuum with 250w BLDC motor & good filtering & decent battery, than the V7 hit or miss, chinesium, its not a real brand like Dyson, its one of those off brand Chinese things that offer great value but questionable quality. If you hit the reviews, you either get a good one or a dud with a battery batter with terrible runtime or you get a really good one. There in lies the quality control difference. Some Dyson buyers get burned too. I read reviews of people who purchased a V12 slim detect & it failed badly within 2 days of new purchase & customer service support was far away, expensive & not helpful. Anyone who claims the Dyson impeller connected to the innovative Dyson motor made of plastic is confused, its actually CRFP, or glass fiber nylon like a Glock lower, very strong & durable, maybe even better than aluminum, and it has exceptional fluid dynamics optimized geometry to produce more useable air watts of suction from less motor wattage or power output from the battery, so Dyson stick vac's are more efficient at converting their battery pack energy into useful suction, filtering the air & cleaning respectively, but at a huge price premium, or poor value in my humble opinion. If Dyson wants to send me a V12 slim detect for review & comparison to the VicSonic S7, that sounds great!
