We need to move beyond oxidizing carbon for energy with more renewables & energy storage; nuclear fuel breeding & other tech to make trillions of kWh of clean net negative carbon electricity to help gain control over Earth's climate & weather. We need to upgrade people minds with better information!
If diamonds are forever, then why are these cut crystals of carbon hoarded by one massive company who releases a fixed amount to artificially constrain availability to raise the prices or cost of diamonds, especially when there are superior gemstones with better fire & lower prices or lower cost.
Money, currency, fiat currencies, there are ultimate derivatives of net energy returned on investment. The more clean renewable energy we create, the more wealth we create. It takes energy to make anything happen, to heat, cool or move. Humans have to eat food for calories to metabolize to think or do anything.
There is no free lunch in physics, its a cold hard reality- thankfully we have a lot of technologies to insulate ourselves, to air-condition our vehicles & homes- even using clothing on our bodies to regulate temperature - though much of that driven by emotional fashion -- fake money & currency manipulation. Energy the real wealth that everyone needs.
Consider energy credits as money in Star Trek (media- content) as an example. A gold coin cannot do much on its own other than look nice for long time without oxidizing, but using that same gold to coat the mirrors of the James Web Space Telescope or the charging pins in your smartphone to prevent oxidation corrosion- there are better ways to use gold than to make coins & jewelry. Au or gold is not money itself - it is the utility value of Gold applied in value added applications that drives the real value of gold & other elements like aluminum, copper, lithium, iron, nickel, platinum etc. When humans apply their minds to solve problems with different chemical elements, thats why drives their real value- solving problems. The world has a lot of problems that need to be solved, mostly because of poor quality people who are not solving problems.
Racing towards 10 billion humans alive at the same time on Earth, most of the problems we have worldwide can be traced to dishonesty, corruption, lies, greed & other moral & ethical failures that underpin the basis of bigotry, crime, inequality, racism, war & worse.
Did you know that many luxury brands have dumped supplies of their precision crafter Swiss wrist watches & clothing & luggage into the worlds oceans in order to artificially constrain supplies. Divers have discovered these while diving off the coast of Italy.
Artificial scarcity a tactic used to prop up profits by increasing the cost of an item. Consider Rolex the superior mechanical wrist watch manufacturer in Switzerland. Back in the 1960's a Rolex watch was an inexpensive item that a normal working person could easily buy. At this time, the Swiss watch industry was not at all prestigious or luxury the way it exists today. Back then companies in America like Elgin, the real OG of watch makers, were eons ahead of any Swiss company, so much that the Swiss government funded a national program to reverse engineer superior American made wrist watches & incorporate the learnings, while providing Swiss watch makers with costly specialized machining equipment needed to manufacture the many hundreds or thousands of parts in a mechanical or automatic watch movement with complications like a perpetual calendar.
More food produced annually than people consume as much of it lost to spoilage, mostly because of the inability to properly tightly control low temperatures while transporting the biodegradable food products. Unintentional naturally occurring bacteria & fungi present on the surfaces & crevices of these foods, at higher temperatures, flourish & cause the foods to spoil faster. Something like 40% of all food, grain, fruits, veggies & meat produced are lost to spoilage.
The UN Food program & other government subsidies have fueled human population growth in inhospitable locations where it would not be feasible or practical, even with the use of energy intensive industrial equipment & hydro DAM based irrigation systems, to grow that much food. Therefor the human populations in those areas are "artificially" higher than they could be naturally, creating artificial demands for food & other goods that would otherwise never exist, at least not on that kind of scale.
Human labor gave way to machines, even in America, for road building, back in the early 1900's, during the construction of Highway 1 or 101 along the west coast of America. Humans with picks & shovels & axes originally cleared the landscape & cut through the sides of hills, but then draft animals were used to provide more energy. Then industrial road making machines were utilized. Some of the most amazing bridges were produced during this time, but many have fallen victim to age related corrosion of the iron reinforcement rebar inside the porous conventional concrete. Today there are micro-silica versions of concrete & stainless steel rebar that can be utilized to make a bridge last 120 years near a salty spray sea coastal location & such was utilized on a bridge recently constructed in Oregon State, USA.
If you watch the TV show Modern Marvels, for which there are many hundreds of 45 min segments, it should become apparent that there is literally no need for scarcity to exist. There are steam shoves & similar mining equipment powered by diesel & enormous electric motors, that move thousands of tons of rock per day. They molten metal cast giant ship diving Diesel engine in Germany that are bigger than a conventional westernized industrial family home. We have enough Aircraft & vehicles in the world to move 10x more goods & provide 10x more services than currently available. Most human industrial systems are underutilized. We also fail to apply existing technology. Consider fuel element breeder reactors that make more nuclear fuel than they consume.
Endless fission power not just available by breeding fuel elements like Thorium, but the worlds oceans contain enough Uranium to fuel 2nd Gen inefficient reactors for 4000+ years. With fuel breeder reactors & fuel reprocessing or radioactive element recycling, more fuel can be made than consumed in a processed called over-parity, meaning more energy becomes available than put in - a constantly positive net return on investment, a continual positive profit generating feedback look with fuel element breeding reactors. Thats not even touch on the most intelligent nuclear energy technology, fusion, which all stars in space use to produce energy output, in gravitation confined fusion. Consider the Earth's nearby star, the Sun, fusing 600 million tons of hydrogen H2 into Helium He every second, and the Sun is a relatively small & dim star (GV2 class) amongst stars in outer space.
More energy hits Earth in 1 hour than humans make with electrical generation or carbon combustion in an entire year worldwide. This means solar thermal & solar photovoltaic have a ton of potential if paired with energy storage to provide electricity 24/7 - especially because civilization never fully asleep due to the rolling time zone differences around the world. Someone is always awake -- We have 12 or more major ways to make electricity on the terawatt scale, to give all humans a 6kw lifestyle improvement - not to suggest that money or energy alone will make a happy life.
Today, most energy worldwide funded by wasting oxygen in Earths atmosphere, to oxidize carbon fuels, making CO & CO2 on a scale so vast that its making climate change worse & producing a ton of air pollution nearby to most peoples lungs, air pollution toxic to human lung cells. Coal power releases a ton to radioactive heavy metals as fly ash + a ton of particulate matter or fine particle PM2.5 that clog peoples lungs, causing COPD like degradation of their ability to breathe or respiratory function - no ambiguity or debate in the medical science here - tailpipe & smokestack emissions are toxic to everything that breathes air, including animals in nature- in ecosystems where human air, water & food comes from - in other word, we are making the biosphere of Earth, progressively more toxic every year by burning more coal, more gasoline, more diesel, more oil, natural gas, propane, carbon & hydrocarbon fuels - that also produce NOX & SOX because air contains mostly nitrogen & the fuel contains sulfur & other elements that oxidize, meaning acid rain that causes rebar in concrete & masonry to corrode faster, costing $ trillions in rust & corrosion degradation to infrastructure already built, machines & vehicles outside getting rained on by nitric & sulfuric acid as the emissions from carbon combustion mix with rain water.
This finite fossil fuel system cannot energize a radical improvement to all human systems. We cannot reverse climate change or make more wealth available to all people, to clean up the space trash or ocean trash or to make life better for everything living, for all future generations, burning our way there. We need nuclear energy abundances to energize the future! We need more renewables & energy storage. We need each person to use energy intelligently & not waste energy. There exists an urgent need to decarbonize energy worldwide & even the global oil companies are talking about this now. Besides, crude oil much more valuable & useful for making petrochemical products & chemicals.
Energy scarcity the real problems, especially because most human energy systems exploit carbon combustion with toxic emissions (externalities)(toxic to human lungs, climate change worse faster) / when there are many other ways, solar, wind, geothermal, hydro, wave, tidal, nuclear, solar thermal, solar photovoltaic, thermal differential, pressure differential, light differential, any difference, including ZPE exploitation of vacuum fluctuation- there are lots off ways to make heat, power & electricity.
We know that we can reduce AC loads in hot locals with "White" roofs & offset "Shading" or Rooftop solar hot water heaters & PV electricity generating panels - energy stored in batteries that can be recycled when they are end of life or not working well anymore. E-waste can be recycled just like batteries, to recover the valuable metals. Spaced based mining can bring back a lot more iridium & platinum & just with rebar, if it was feasible to electroplating the rebar with a nice thick layer or noble non corroding platinum, then salt water corrosion would not cause bridges to fail so quickly- we could build amazing long lasting concrete buildings & roads & hydro-dams & similar infrastructure.
We can also electrically mine the worlds oceans for gold & uranium & other valuable metals, using high current DC rods to anode cathode separate the ions. Polymer bead ion capture can also help with capturing valuable metals during E-waste recovery, water pollution cleaning technologies. We already invented ways to make ultra pure clean water for IC chip making, so there is no reason why RO or reverse osmosis cannot be energized with SOLAR POWER - to make more clean water available. In agriculture, water use can be reduced by 90% or more with plastic drip tube irrigation, extensively utilized in Israel today.
I could go on & on, but solutions already exists to fix most of the problems in the world. Corruption & other ideological problems like selfish narcissistic people are holding everyone back from a better future. They know we, as people, are all in this life together. In fact, the ones with the most money are scared of losing it all. Emotionally, they live in fear, uncertainty & doubt, unlike people who have nothing to lose. Someone with nothing to lose dangerous to people who have "too much". I keep an EDC Glock on my person at all times because I am all to familiar with destitute druggies & whacked out sickos who wanted to kill me & take my stuff / I have had to defend myself when the police could not be there fast enough, when seconds make the difference. They are coming for you & you know it. Be prepared, at least carry a knife or pen to defend yourself (anything sharp can be used for self defense as a stabbing weapon) * you can pickup a cup or vase or chair & use it to strike the bad person. Even grabbing a handful of dirt to through in their eyes & face or a can of pepper spray or mace to spray in the bad guys face - you always have the ability to defend yourself - run the other way - if you stay behind to fight you will likely get hurt too. So where do these bad people come from ? broken families. It takes a high quality nuclear family with a loving mom & dad who take good care of their children to produce high quality people!
Most of the problems in the world are low quality people problems. We need to defend the nuclear family, have more people engage personal accountability & a philosophical revolution to upgrade everyones minds & thinking. Thats why I am thinking about it here, how to make a bigger positive difference. Thats why I am sharing some of my condensed insight & learnings! We just need better exchange of information between peoples minds. We need to transcend the physical dimension & move to higher celestial planes of existent as energy information beings free of a physical body. We can go faster than light & to infinity & beyond to other dimensional levels much higher than the condensed matter phase or physical reality where all matter made of energy E= MC^2 !
