Millions of kids are neglected by their parents, who in many cases are as adults' abusers of alcohol and drugs, who both have to work full time to pay for life, so kids come home from school to an empty house without supervision, left alone to their idle time, known as the devils playground, and people wonder why such children have so many problems not just as kids but also when they grow up and become mommies & daddies suffering the same fate, as the middle class of America shrinking the American dream burned down & slashed apart with currency inflation, insourcing & outsourcing years ago. 

Now transnational global monopolies control 90% of e-commerce or telecom or gasoline access or internet access or water or natural gas access, beneficiaries of inequality increasing the world's first trillionaires, now let me tell you a little story about a guy whose life ruined like this.

His name was Harvey, he was a brilliant kid, loving parents, he grew up supported, went to college, became an engineer, working his first good jobs as a weapons designer, his income put him on the up and up. 

Now in his first apartment, he is out on a Saturday afternoon at a beach park near San Diego California, a young woman about his age, Sienna, comes up on roller skates noticing his dapper appearance, nerdy disposition, she flirts & he loves it, eats it up, asks her out on a date the same day, they appear to hit it off, he is sold on Sienna, in love "she loves me, I love her"

After dating for a few months Harvey gets a ring, then he sets it up and proposes, she accepts, they are married. She stays at home while he is at work as an engineer, he makes all the money & saves up to buy a house. They plan, shop, find one and put the down payment & buy a house in suburbia. 

Within a couple of years in their new house, decorated nicely according to Sienna's style & preference, she cooks him breakfast, packs his lunch, has dinner ready for him when he gets home, does all the laundry, dishes, takes care of all the house duties, so when Harvey comes home from a long day & commute, she gives him a warm welcome, then after dinner she shows him a good time clothes off sideways & makes smiles & moaning that drives him mad in all the right ways. He feels like he has won the lottery in life, amazing, on the top of his game at work, getting all the right stuff at home, Sienna becomes pregnant, in a few more years they have 3 kids, a son, then two daughters. Now 10 years on, he is still loving life.

Sienna a stay-at-home wife, home cooked meals, organic & natural, healthy, they both workouts together on the weekend. Now in their early thirties, the girls are at the end of elementary school, oldest boy now in middle school. All appears & seems to be correct, just right, amazing, but one day, on Friday night, Harvey had to stay at work late to finish up a project, then got home after dark to a dark house, no one home, he turns the lights on & finds a note on the counter. 

"You have no idea, but I set out from age 15 to find a middle-class engineer, buy a house with his money, buy cars with his money, my clothes with his money, then deliberately have kids with him, so that I could act like a pit viper gold digger, file for divorce, take the kids, house, & most of the money, Leaving YOU Harvey in the lurch, maybe 4 days per month you get to see the kids, but you have to pay me $3000 per month for that access. You fell for it, I played you, you are a fool, I am the winner here"

She leaves a divorce packet for him to sign. He is so demoralized on seeing & reading this, he takes the bottle & drinks into a stupor, aware his entire life was just jacked by a pit viper gold digger who played him perfectly. 

A few months later in Court his x-wife shows up with the kids, the Judge bribed, looks at Harvey, "Son, your anger management problems scares your former wife & kids, they are afraid of you, and we want all your money, your house, your investments, your car, your happiness, your dreams, we want everything, so give it up, give it to your wife & kids for their benefits, now you keep working for nothing, keep some of it to pay for a studio apartment & a used car, keep on earning money & pay them, so you get almost nothing for all your hard work, they get to hijack your life & I am for it, so you have to support your children, so we will take it from your pay as an engineer."

Then about 5 years on, now kids in High School, the Engineering Firm lets Harvey go, he was replaced by a chatbot that does the math faster. Now with no income to pay for his life or theirs, his wife cuts off his access to his kids. He only wants to see them on their birthdays to give them a gift, taking on odd jobs & entry level work, working two jobs, going home alone all the time, lonely, he still loves her, Harvey never stopped loving Sienna or their kids, but he is angry for a list of reasons listed above, has an anger management problems because his life was jacked from him, so he is hard to talk too on the phone, & the kids are afraid of him losing his temper, so they cut him off, and one day he calls wanting to give his son a car for his 16th birthday, purchased cash, as a gift, but Sienna so afraid she calls the police. 

A detective about to retire, his last day, comes to Harvey's old house that Sienna stole in the divorce, Sienna tells the Detective that Harvey was going to bring a car for his son's 16th birthday on that day, so the Detective stays at the house, kids home from school, dinner time, Harvey rolls up in a used car in nice condition with a big red ribbon bow & a happy birthday son card for his son. 

When Harvey goes to the front door, the Detective answers, and Harvey snaps, where is my wife & son & daughters he asks? The detective says, "let's take this outside buddy, they are afraid of you and called for me help, it's also my last day before retiring as a detective, so let's take it easy & talk over here in the yard." 

They move over to a patio set & sit down & talk about life. 

The detective lost a child to infant death syndrome & tells Harvey about it, but says "You're never going to see your wife or kids ever again, & pulls out a gun & points it at Harvey under the table saying "I am going to make sure of this, go ahead and look under the table" 

Harvey, very literally as an engineer, he looks under the table, the detective pulls the trigger shooting Harvey in the head fatal death hit, Harvey slumps over, Sienna & the kids hearing the gun shot, running out the front door into the yard, the teen boy finding the car with keys in it & the birthday card from his dad, title, documents, plate, everything, he sees his father dead on the ground, the detective gone, the wife cowers, realizing her free ride over, no more payments from Harveys income, now that Harvey dead the gravy train is over. The young teen girls are crying, no happy ending here, reality. 

Anna, Hannah & Josh, the kids, live with their cruel mother, she dates men but never finds any suitable long-term relationship. Over time now kids in college, they move away, Sienna comes down with pancreatic cancer. Away at College they get the bad news but do not really care, they never felt loved by Sienna, knew she was being fake & phony, they knew about the letter & that she was a gold-digging pit viper & hated her, so they never came to Sienna's funeral a few months later. 

Anna, Hannah & Josh all end up living single lives & never marrying because of the shit poor example set by Sienna the gold-digging pit viper liar cheater evil cringy sicko they ended up hating. So that gold digger not only stole Harveys life & livelihood undo death, but she also ruined her child's minds by setting a terrible example. Sienna didn't even get to live that long; the pancreatic cancer killed her at age 47.

Testing hybrids in race conditions, yet no examples commercialized by Toyota yet, they say "It takes time to appreciate a Hybrid Sports Car" so let me briefly explain my experiences with Corolla Hybrid Sedan

In 2023 my 2020 Nissan LEAF SV battery failing rapidly, so a rapid search for alternative landing on Corolla Hybrid, but the Sedan not the hatchback. We found a 1 year used 22 model on sale at Michael Toyota, after trading money, that dumb LEAF, & setup a payment schedule, almost paid off now, this corolla via $800 of added gear, I camp inside the trunk legs sticking out into the back seat through folded rear seat, its darker in the trunk, so falling asleep easier, and in world today where sleep deficit so common who does not appreciate a lunch time nap in the trunk of their car, LOL :P

All kidding aside HSD dual motor hybrid brisk quick acceleration, its also better at going very slowly in stop & go traffic. I get over 60MPG all the time, worst case about 38 MPG with long warm up & aggressive driving, up to 74MPG with mild hypermiling using every trick I know but really just going slow smooth & predictive, no rapid acceleration, no heavy braking, just smooth & steady keeping speed in light traffic. 

It took about a year of daily driving & road trips to really soak in what makes HSD PSD Hybrid Synergy Drive Toyota super fuel efficiency but also more fun to drive. Without an automatic transmission, they are also more reliable. The Hybrid battery works well for people that drive daily, not for cars that are only driven once per week. All the hype today about LIB lithium ion electric vehicles, but big dog Toyota, they embraced dual motor generator ICE thermal efficiency engine hybrid strong Prius for 5 generations, & Hybrid & PRIME plug-in versions of many other Toyota vehicles now :) I drive a Corolla Hybrid Sedan, camp nap in the trunk kitted out for such & love it, gets 57.4 MPG so far net average fuel economy, holy crap cheap to operated excellent lowest total cost of ownership winner :) I also love motorsports, F1, world rally championship & dream of owning a GR Corolla, if anyone at Toyota hears me, please me know :) 

Oldest 2001 Audi B5 A4 2.8L 30v V6 fuel injected, liquid cooled, narrow angle, torque monster, 24 mpg on premium fuel, 3500 pounds towing capacity, 4 door compact sedan heats up amazing, heated leather seats, premium BOSE sound system, full sun roof with tilt mode tinted class & insulated cover slides under it when closed to block light & heat loss. It uses fuel that costs almost $5 per gallon, I am able to get 27 mpg the way we drive it on Sundays to church 36 miles away. It has just less than 99K miles now. If the average speed 25 MPH then about 4000 hours on the engine, which was recently overhauled for $4 grand by Butera Motors in Seattle :) in very good condition, kept in an indoor garage space nice protected. 

Our 2010 Prius III has about 160,000 miles, 2ZR-FXE engine 4 cylinder fuel injected 1.8 liter Atkinson cycle VVTI dual 40% thermal efficiency amazing innovation into PSD mixing torque with MG1 & MG2 motor generators to vary speed of wheels with many multi-mode strong hybrid performance uber efficient about 48 MPG overall, incredibly fuel efficient, we bought it used for $10 grand with 97,000 miles on it 10 years old, it still works daily reliable bang on fuel efficient practical low total cost king :) 

Our 22 Corolla Hybrid Sedan LE, about 44,000 miles now, it gets average so far of 57.4 MPG, while having almost same engine 2ZR-FXE as Gen III Prius, with upgraded fiber reinforced plastic intake, exhaust heating coolant on cold start to warm engine faster, a few friction reduction tweaks, & 4AH 207.2v HV battery able to EV at up to 85 MPH engine off going down mountain pass example, its about 50% lower mass than older NiMH HV battery, while giving off 50% more peak power & faster regen energy recovery charging efficiency superior, but worse cold weather parked at ski resort all weekend as BHC battery heating elements waste energy keeping HV battery above 40 F temp to avoid damaging LIB. This one my daily commuter vehicle when I am not riding my motorcycle

2020 MT03 by Yamaha, 321cc offset twin 40HP, refined on R3 for 12 years, its beginner friendly soft launch hard to stall engine first gear, gear selection displayed on dash, not too fast but quick, ergonomic seating position more friendly for older riders, idles in city or between adjacent city commuting use, my primary use case to go to work & back. I did ride it 369 miles one way, butt was sore for 4 days after that. I added a Arapovic refurbished exhaust from Ebay $140, & customized a tail delete & LED very hacker stile with copper wires holding down the OEM turn signal LED units almost vertical. A small wind screen added to reduce wind buffeting at highway speeds, where in 6th gear the engine humming at 7K rpm, a little buzzy, not ideal for long highway trips. 

2013 Honda PCX 150 has a fuel injected liquid cooled 153cc single of about 13 HP & 11 lb ft torque, its twist & go CVT automatic V-belt transmissions, this one fun, we take it riding 2 up in fair weather on back road trips & found Snohomish Airport Skydiving randomly one Saturday, the next weekend we were up there doing a jump with online discount, & both did it twice because it was so amazing. Our Honda scooter helped us meet so many nice people, like their old ad slogan nicest people ride Honda's, when in reality this Honda PXC actually made by Kimco, the largest scooter maker in the world in Taiwan, its engine made in Japan thankfully. 

We have an excellent Honda 220 pressure washer with 6 HP & 2200 PSI that runs on stabilized gasoline in a carburetor, it blows junk using water from a hose, off concrete like a miracle, that Madona song, while our electric plug in pressure washer struggles to do half of that rate, its also less noisy & no air pollution, we can pick either to clean driveway, deck, all the trees nearby foul stuff with green stuff, biological, that pressure washes away leaving a clean surface that sings to my clean preference desires to have a pristine driveway, walkway, no moss or algae, fresh looking, crispy

Our backup Generator a Honda EU2000 from back then, 2018, its quiet at only 46 dB, we recently used it for 16 hours per day for 8 days straight, about 1 gallon of ethanol free fuel per day, to keep our fridge online, & run an electric space heater at 1000 watts while charging Eco-Flow River 2 Max, Smartphones, Laptops, Smart Watches, electronics, able to run on TV & Blue ray Player on River 2 Max as inverter power to LED TV & Blueray player only about 60 watts total. I keep about 7 gallons of stabil added ethanol free fuel on hand for power outages to fuel this backup generator. Its kept wet active and I pull it randomly, every few months to run it for a maintain test cycle, of at least 1 hour to make sure its working, change the oil, its kept in OEM box with plastic bag to keep the fuel from evaporating, inside the garage near the Audi, I keep the Yamaha MTO3 & E-bike Lectric 3.0 & my bicycle Specialized Crossroads 2.0 in the Garage with the Audi. 

A string trimmer with 4 stroke engine, its a craftsman model from 2003 that still works, but broken case causes the clutch to fail fast, I replaces 3 of them in fast order, I conjure Ideas of putting this engine on my bicycle with a kit for such, but have no direct application or need, so it sits idle now, I fire it up randomly sometimes just to hear the small engine & smell that lovely exhaust that reminds me of progress :) 

We will never run out of gasoline because of biofuels & synthetic fuels made from coal & natural gas, biogas, dump gas, captured cow farts, compost gas recovery, natural gas recovery from old oil wells, there are ways of converting waste plastics & used car tires into synthetic crude oil & make gasoline, diesel & jet fuel using shell GTL gas to liquids FT polymerization or isomerization technology. Using every renewable fuel trick under the sun we will have gasoline & diesel for thousands of years, though it will become so expensive, perhaps $20 dollars per liter by 2050, but still available for antique vehicles, long after sodium ion EV become the normal car, truck & SUV on roadways around the world. 

Direct Injection, Turbo charging, Super Charging, Large Displacement Naturally Aspirated, or High RPM machine K20 Honda in S2000 exceptional engines, or the GR Corolla 1.6 turbo making 300 HP holy mother of machine excellence engineering modern marvel, that's amazing. 

Healthy Coping Mechanisms for Life's Stressors

 Life contains many sources of stress or a plurality of possible stressors; however, you can overcome all or any of them by embracing healthy coping skills.

Stop, close your eyes, take a slow deep breath in, now hold it for a few seconds, slowly exhale very slowly, then repeat this as many times as it takes. You can roll your shoulders to release upper tensions & enhance the relaxing effect of a deep breathing release exercise.

Ask God for help, in prayer speak from your heart unto the Lord "Father, give me strength, I am turning to you because I am choosing to trust in and rely on you when it makes zero sense to the world, be with me Christ Jesus, I need the Holy Spirit to help me Lord, thank you for who you are, I love you, please be with me in this time, I need you badly father, help me to feel your love, healing & forgiveness, in the holy name of Christ Jesus, Amen. 

Think of 5 things you really like or love in life. Perhaps a beautiful sunset with colorful clouds and warm air cooling just a touch as the sun dips beyond the horizon. Maybe it could be Creme Brulé a French custard desert that you hit with a blow torch to caramelize the sugar topping into a hard candy layer that cracks when you penetrate it with a spoon to enjoy the thick creamy flavorful creamy custard beneath. An old friend or someone you love or deeply appreciated. A favorite vehicle or machine or place to go. It can be almost anything, even a beverage you really like, I often think of coffee to feel better. 

If you have been spending a lot of time inside lately, going outside for a walk, adventure, hike, stroll, whatever it takes to get you out in nature, bring an umbrella if it is raining, if it is cold and rainy, a winter jacket with hood & or warm fleece hat to keep your head & ears warm. Even in winter there are clear sunny days when you can recharge basking in the warm light the Sun casts upon you in splendor.

Exercise a gold standard for letting go of stress and tension. I do these virtual reality workouts using something that looks like ski goggles, called Meta Quest 2 VR using app known as Les Mills Body Combat, & these sessions are between 8 and 20 minutes, usually around 14 min, & you holding controllers in your left & right hands that act as your virtual hands to punch or hit glowing green or purple targets synchronized to music as the fitness coach encourages you how to do it correctly with positive affirmational words that make you want to work out harder, and within a few minutes you're going to become hot, sweaty & start breathing much harder, and by the time your finished you will be dripping in sweat, thirsty for water, so warm you will keep sweating & it could take 10 minutes of more or a cold shower to cool you down. 

If you skipped breakfast because your IF intermittent fasting, having a very nutritious delicious meal for lunch a great way to boost your moral, mood & feelings, because enjoyment of flavor & taste knowing its nourishing your body & mind, there is something deeply restorative about this that sings to everyone, since all people have to eat to live, but if you choose carefully, you can eat the best things that make you feel amazing without penalizing your health. It does not have to be expensive. At Trader Joe's a local grocery, they sell amazing organic complete salad kits for under $5. They might not be a deeply satisfying meal, so you can throw in a $5 protein item to balance out the nutrient input for a very healthy $10 lunch. Given how the US dollar has lost 97% of purchasing power since 1913, a ten dollar lunch of healthy food, even if its $12 or $15 an amazing value if eating it makes you feel amazing, where spending the same money on fast food will taste good but make you feel like junk later on. 

The same can be said for using alcohol to deal with stress. You drink one, feel great, want another one, then after a few of them, the next day, headache, hangover, dehydration, a bad value overall. You trade a temporary joy for a long term health problems, a very unhealthy way to cope with stress, like smoking cigarettes, as smoking cigarettes almost certain way to develop health problems since smoke generated by cigarettes contains thousands of substances, like tar, which are bad for lung cells, which barely touches the toxicology reality in medicine about the harms of smoking tobacco products, as they are varied & many difference diseases and disorders are linked with high quality evidence to smoking.

Towards 70% thermal efficiency, with heat recuperation recovery, energy conversion technology, super-efficient Hybrid drivetrain systems & range extender enhanced electric vehicles, including hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles, in so many applications we can see novel engines using chemical fuels to provide energy or power, to recharge batteries or power the drive motors or propulsion directly, enhancing useful range even where battery capacity insufficient to provide such range, the range extender makes BEV's into REEV so they are the best of Electric & best of Hybrid mixed, such as many PRIME models being sold worldwide by Toyota right now :) 

Currently the best automotive engines mass produced by Toyota have the highest thermal efficiency of just over 42% during a broad range of RPM operation conditions, but a sweet spot in RPM as a range extender operating in narrow band of peak efficiency RPM's means the same engines can reach 50% then %55 & so on percent thermal efficiency not possible with broad RPM range operation as a prime mover of ICE vehicles as the engines of typical automobiles today, some of which feature a nice 10 speed automatic offering better than manual transmission efficiency, even some slick dual clutch system like computer controlled manual transmissions, one for even & one for odd gears so fastest possible shifting, or Toyota's proprietary direct shift 1st gear then CVT after that operation, mixing the best of manual with the best of automatic transmissions technologies. These novel 10 speed Toyota transmissions can be improved with software updates too, which control the fuzzy digital hybrid control electronics so better shifting & predictive up & down shifting more accurate in more conditions. 

Stratified Fuel Injection, Homogenous Charge Compression, Electric or Hydraulic or Pneumatic or any combination continuously variable intake & exhaust valve control enabling 3D fuel mapping, so you get best fuel economy in ECO mode & best performance in SPORT mode or a mix in NORMAL mode. REEV means Range Extended Electric Vehicles

 Toyota Hybrids like Prius set a global standard for fuel economy excellence by combining an efficient gasoline engine via orbital gearing PSD to a traction motor & generator motor that save or recuperate energy via brake regeneration, so when Prius not accelerating, it can turn the engine off, coast, go down slopes or hills and capture energy in the NiMH or Li-Ion traction battery energy storage unit, where power from that ESU then added into the motor to help the gasoline engine efficiently accelerate, in sum HSD or Hybrid Synergy Drive proved by the millions of models of Hybrids by Toyota sold worldwide, that ICE fueled by gasoline Hybrid cars such as any of many generations of Prius can get more than 40, 50 or 60 MPG in the real world. 

PRIME are plug-in hybrid versions of Toyota Hybrids that have largest battery storage capacity. In practice this means recharging with a regular extension cord over a normal power outlet at home overnight, giving PRIME vehicles around 50 miles of daily driving range as BEV mode, with the gasoline engine off the entire time & no fuel consumed. When the PRIME engine does come on to warm up in a Toyota PRIME model, it does so with every fuel saving trick practical to implement, so in the real world PRIME models mix $20 a month of electricity with $20 of gasoline to get over 70MPG overall, so many people with PRIME Rav4 for example driving daily to work & back, their energy & fueling costs only about $40 per month. 

REEV or range extended electric vehicles offer all the benefits of BEV around town & between cities, while giving long range performance of ICE, just like Toyota PRIME, since Plug-in Hybrids are a kind of Range Extended Battery Electric Vehicle. BMW famously released an actual REEV variant of i3 know as the i3 REX which featured a twin cylinder scooter engine generator in the trunk area and a small gas tank that holds about 2 gallons of fuel or 7.5 liters, so when the Li-Ion battery of i3 depleted to 30% state of charge, the REX engine activated producing 22KW of electricity that can power the i3 traction motor while also charging the battery storage system, which when it reaches 80% state of charge the REX motor turns off & it operates in BEV mode again. The REX i3 weighs about 600lbs more, so handling & acceleration suffer but with the major benefit of longer-range operation in REX or range extended mode. GM via Chevy also sold two generations of VOLT which are range-extended electric vehicles.

Prime Toyota or Lexus are finest quality, longest lasting, most reliable, lowest total cost of ownership models available to buy. These are the only ones I consider buying & the best overall value because they mix a few dollars worth of grid power with few dollars of gasoline to go hundreds of miles. Its all the benefits of BEV without any of the limitations & the best of Toyotas highly developed Hybrid Drivetrain technology perfected over twenty years now! Toyota does not pay me to post this, this kind of information based on the pleasing ownership experiences of 05 Prius II for 17 years & 170,000 miles sold inside our family at a song & dance price & continues to be driven with a new hybrid battery upgrade installed. 

Meg has a 2010 Prius III with 2ZR-FXE engine that still works & our 2022 Corolla Hybrid Sedan LE my daily driver also has the same engine as third generation PRIUS, but with tweaks to improve thermal efficiency, a 4AH 207.2V long-life lithium ion battery instead of the 6.5AH 201.5v NiMH battery of her Prius. The smaller, lower mass lithium-ion Hybrid battery is 50% lower mass, has 70% higher current output, & can operate Corolla hybrid at up to 80 MPH without turning the engine on & has better energy recovery efficiency in brake regen or more efficient & expensive, but with the downside that it does not work well at very low or very high temperatures, since lithium ion batteries are thermally fragile, or break down faster when they too hot or too cold when charging or discharging.

In a little while, still dark black outside early AM Saturday, I am going to change the engine oil & oil filter of our 22 Corolla Hybrid, with 4.4L of 0W-16 Oil & new oil filter, then save the spent used motor oil drained into a catch pan into a 1970's metal gas can that's been used to save used motor oil since the 1990's, such that I take the spent oil when the about 4 gallons worth in the can, to a local autoparts store for recycling in their blue painted 600 gallon rectangular motor oil recycling container in the back, then get a new oil filter, some motor oil & any other parts I need while I am already at the Autoparts store. Changing engine oil regularly a great way to enhance the life of an engine. When I do it at home in the driveway it takes about an hour overall including setup, procedure & putting it all away after completion. The filter & oil cost me about $24 & I do it on my day off, correctly, so I know its done correctly & been doing that with cars since 1992 when my dad taught me how to do it. Cleanest, fastest, least noise, fewest number of moves, best one of my life oil change by doing the pre-lab inspired write up, corrected, it pre-loaded my brain with every move, so completing the procedure went by smooth as butter :) At The Grange ethanol free gasoline 5.8 gallons for $31.32 added to fill the tank for estimate remaining range of 624 miles now :) '

Why use $5.20 per gallon ethanol free, straight or pure gasoline? It contains around 7% more energy content, no ethanol so it does not attract moisture, being purely isomers of gasoline, nearly entirely hydrocarbons they prevent corrosion of the fuel system as my car parked for 22 hours per day or more, outside in the rain, not stored in a garage, for the indoor garage space used for our 2020 Yamah MT03, by Crossroads 2.0 Specialized Bicycle, Megs LECTRIC 3.0 Step Through Folding E-Bike, our cherished sentimental 01 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro with Porsche PDK TipTronic steering wheel button shift automatic, or bump shifter shifting automatic AWD with Torsion limited slip differentials on the front & rear axels, it can tow 3500 lbs from a tiny sedan using the gorgeous torque of that 30V 2.8L V6 engine that requires premium fuel. Leather heated seats, sunroof with tilt mode tinted glass, BOSE premium sound system. It was about $41K in 2001, way more than I would ever spend on a vehicle, given adjusted for inflation that's almost $65K in 2025 USD because of currency inflation, so an ultra-premium compact executive 4 door Sedan made in Germany & imported, the don't make them like that anymore :) I recently had Butera Motors of Seattle do almost $4200 worth of work on that B5 Audi to make it road-worthy & update timing belt & other wear items from differed maintenance that needed work. I was given this vehicle by my late adoptive mother CMS who died in 2023, & she knew I loved this car, so promised that when she "clicked the bucket" it would be mine & that's how the cookie of the estate closing crumbled. Aside from a few cosmetic blemishes, perhaps in need of a deep clean, it's a creampuff in minty condition for its age :) All original except the front splitter which I had an autobody shop install after buying the part online.

Oil Change Procedure for 2022 Toyota Corolla

Park the car level, parking brake engaged, turn it off.  Jack up car for access with hydraulic floor jack. 

Use 10mm socket to remove 4 bolts of cover door to access engine oil drain bolt & engine oil filter. 

Place oil catch-pan under, then use impact wrench 14mm socket to loosen drain bolt. 

Now place clean impact wrench & battery away to keep clean. 

Using gloved hand unscrew drain bolt careful that stream of used oil goes into oil recover pan, a paper towel in your other hand as you're going to get used motor oil on the drain bolt & gloved hand removing it. Towel off used motor oil from the glove & drain bolt. 

Install drain bolt crush water onto drain bolt & retain for install. 

Allow used engine oil to drain out all the way for a few minutes, then replace drain bolt with crush washer & hand tighten. 

Now use a torque wrench set to 20-foot pounds via 14 mm deep socket to secure the drain bolt. 

Now apply the oil filter removal tool & unscrew the oil filter, carefully noting that used motor oil will spill, so keep that over the oil catch pan. 

Now removing the oil filter, use a clean paper towel to clean the oil filter socket. 

Put clean motor oil into the new filter, a few ounces enough to soak the filter element, roll it around to saturate the filter media, then install it hand tight, then using special removal tool to tighten it into place.

Move the oil catch pan with lid installed out of the way, over near recycling jug. 

Install the door & 4 bolts 10mm to secure the door. 

Now carefully remove the hydraulic floor jack, slowly letting the car back down. 

Change to clean gloves. Open the engine access hood.

Locate the oil filler cap, then turn counterclockwise to remove it, sett it down carefully, retain it. 

Install a clean funnel into the oil filler port, then carefully add about 4.3 liters of OW-16 oil, then allow the funnel to drain all the way so no drips. Remove the special clean oil filler funnel & retain it. 

Now restore the oil filler cap, hand tight to keep debris out of the engine lubrication system & to prevent splashing hot engine oil from spewing out of the filler port. 

With hood open, start the car, let it idle for 30-90 seconds, then turn it off & wait a few minutes. 

Using a clean glove & paper towel, pull the oil dip stick & check the level on the engraved portion that shows the engine oil level, near the bottom tip of the dip stick, now wipe it clean, then insert & remove it again & read it again. If the oil level correct, then you're done with the procedure. 

Take the used motor oil catch pan & carefully pour the used motor oil into the dirty funnel inserted into the motor oil jug for recycling later on. 

Now put everything away for next time. 

When you take the oil in for recycling, obtain more OW-16 & a new vehicle specific engine oil filter for the next oil change down the road.

Extension & Commentary

Engine oil lubricates metal parts that slide, piston rings against the cylinder walls, the valve train or camshaft pushing & rubbing, the crankshaft, so many other parts, hundreds of moving parts in piston engines that need clean oil to work with minimal wear to enhance engine operating life. Clean oil acts to move heat & funk to the oil filter & evenly spreads heat into the block & oil pan, so the engine coolant & radiator work together to moderate engine heat along with the thermostat that controls when to open to allow engine cooling fluid from the engines water pump to circulate through the cooling channels in the engine block, liquid cooled engines have better thermal control than older lower mass air cooled engines & can produce more power & torque & tend to produce less nitrogen oxide emissions because of the tighter temperature control enabled by liquid cooling. Nearly all modern automobiles fueled by gasoline or diesel fuel feature liquid cooled ICE or internal combustion engines, say ICE, ICE baby, but these even have a nice role as thermally efficient versions as the range extending generators of REEV or range extended electric vehicles. 

So even PRIME require an oil change periodically, based on engine operating hours & number of on off or cold start to hot cycles, or by calendar if vehicles parked for long periods of time. Used older engine oil becomes acidic because of engine blow by, some of the combustion gasses under pressure shoving the pistons down to perform work to crank torque output, some of that gas squeaks past the oil control rings & other sealing gapped rings wrapped around the side of the pistons, just above the piston skirts, near the wrist pin that connects the pistons with the arms, metallic, that like human legs pedaling a bicycle crank, the piston arms transfer linear pressure from the pistons being forced down by hot pressured combustion so that chemical energy become potential physical torque as those piston arms crank the engines crankshaft so it produces rotational torque output to the transmission, drive shafts & wheels that push or pull the tires against the road surfaces. 

In other words, incomplete non-absolute sealing especially during cold start, allows combustion chemical products to slowly leak into & foul the engine oil with hours as the engine started & stopped over & over again, day by day, from one cold start to another daily as you commute, or weekly if your retired & only drive once per week. Prime & Hybrid vehicles are much better for working people commuting daily, as they are going to get more value out of the fuel savings while the batteries are wearing out slowly, such that infrequently used PRIME or Hybrid batteries are just sitting around Calander aging from sitting not being utilized in infrequently used vehicles. 

ICE is better for vehicles only driven irregularly, for a 3rd car in a 2-person household, or for retire people that stay home most of the time, or for people who live in another home abroad & leave a vehicle idle at one of the homes for 6 months or even a few months. Gasoline without fuel stabilizer added starts breaking down chemically oxidizing forming waxy threads of alkane goo after 3 months of sitting, but if you do add fuel stabilizer it increases gasolines shelf life from 3 months to 2 years. Conventional gasoline powered automobiles can last hundreds of years in proper storage. If a BEV or Hybrid or REEV stored like that, the NiCD, NiMH or Li-Ion batteries will fade progressively inside of 20+ years of storage, even if not cycled at all, & have to be boost charged every few months to keep them working, otherwise they will die as in no longer work.
