Charge your phone when you wake up, on the counter or table, for 10, 15, or 20 minutes
Install an outlet timer in your bedroom power outlet, into which your plug your phone power adapter charging cable, that comes on for 20 minutes at 2am, so you can plug your phone in an go to sleep, then it will charge for 20 minutes, turn off and be partially charged when you wake up.
Charge in your car on the way to work, or on the way home
Do not charge all night long, that risks a battery fire, a LIB that will cook your phone, total loss of value, and if your stand or where its placed flammable, it could set fire to your home while your sleeping.
100% charging damages your electronics batteries faster
Draining to below 1% damages LIB faster
Very high temperatures cause a rapid loss of capacity
If we look at battery experts, they say most commercial lithium ion batteries or LIB are a box of compromises, noting that NCA offers the highest initial capacity, but as the Boeing Dreamliner and Samsung Galaxy S7 proved, even a tiny error in LIB manufacturing can become battery fires, blue smoke containing cobalt that are toxic to inhale, so called shorted LIB "venting with flame" when they fail, often puffing up prior to failure, as many RC hobbies are well away of with so called lithium polymer RC batteries, which has a characteristic puffing end of life before catastrophic thermal runaway internal shorting failure, if dendrites that form inside the battery perforate the electrode separator, a synthetic polymer membrane that allows ions of lithium to travel through it while keeping the different electrolyte on the anode and cathode side separated.
Yet LiTi lithium titanate and LFP or lithium iron phosphate, are far longer lasting, even if they have lower initial capacity than NCA nickel cobalt aluminum cathodes, often combined with a graphic or carbon anode. Noting that LIB fires are particularly difficult to extinguish, forcing many Boeing Dreamliners to rapidly land, and many Galaxy S7 left on the charger all night soft shorting until they burned up, costing Samsung nearly $19 billion dollars of recall costs, a major record breaking blunder in smartphone business, though because Samsung so intertwined with the government of South Korea, they were able to pivot, absorb the losses, and continue selling high value added electronics of every kind. Boeing likewise made a good recovery from the initial Dreamliner battery problems. My wife and I have flown on ANA Boeing Dreamliners repeatedly, and they are pleasure to ride on a passenger, the pilots said they are dream to fly also, since I always make a habit of talking with the pilot, copilot, navigator or airline workers, from who I have great respect.
