I am only offering scientific metabolic facts from a personal example. Sugary starchy foods, many junk foods & soda pop & alcoholic beverages, when consumed in excess, elevate blood glucose levels.
Over time this kind of SAD sweet carbohydrate heavy diet makes people fat, sick, and hungry. In response to evaluated blood glucose levels, their bodies increase pancreatic production of insulin into the blood stream where the hormone insulin tells cells in then body to uptake or intake glucose via GLUT1 the glucose cell membrane transporter protein, which turns into glycogen stored swelling up the liver, filling the muscles, then bloating fat cells with inflammation. This in turn increases visceral fat around the organs & produces the characteristic spare-tire belly fat that so many people struggle to reduce.
No amount of exercise or movement can undo the SAD diet onslaught of questionable polyunsaturated easily oxidizable veggie oils, excess sodium, excess sugar, high fructose corn syrup, artificial hormones, artificial colors, artificial flavors, somewhat toxic preservative & stabilization & shelf life promoting synthetic chemicals additives.
Children as young as 6 are developing pre-diabetes. By their early teen years they have Type II diabetes. People 65 & older are getting fatter faster too & also suffering from hypertension & Type II diabetes or insulin resistance, all hallmarks of diseases of civilization that come from eating too many starch foods, too much high fructose corn syrup & other sugars, which are listed as 60 different ingredient names of food packages. Think of all the food ingredients listed that have complex chemical names that normal people cannot even pronounce.
Ultraprocessed foods in colorful bags & boxes that have prices up to 60% lower than healthier higher fiber, health fat & healthy protein foods, fresh organics fruits, berries & vegetables. It costs more to eat a healthy diet because the $500 billion annual budget of the 20 biggest food processing & agricultural chemical companies in America enables them to publish fake science, misinformation, disinformation, to bribe senators & congressmen & thereby accomplish the perversion of the FDA, the NIH & the CDC, with a revolving backdoor between soda pop beverage industry executives & government officials with bribery & collusion & other immoral & unethical backdoor deals, that place industry profit above public health, all the while driving up healthcare costs for everyone, causing a kidney failure, dehydration & sugar intake metabolic syndrome debacle epidemic epitomized by the Food Pyramid that demonized healthy fats & promoted more starchy grain consumption, excess sugar consumption & was nutritional illogical & non-scientific, produced by false biased industry funded science, when provide & public fund science show that metabolic syndrome disease or diseases of civilization, the cancers, diabetes, high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, COPD, ADD, ADHD, Dementia & Alzheimers among other diseases, like autoimmune disorders of which there are more than 80, have a common causal basis from sugar & starch consumption excess, high fructose corn syrup & ultra processed toxic oils like Crisco marketed even though they are full of trans fats or become trans fats or easily oxidize & become rancid when heated during cooking.
All around the world people are becoming fatter, sicker, developing metabolic syndrome diseases that make them feel tired, depressed, frustrated, unable to focus, irritated, sweating while sleeping, sleeping too much or not able to sleep enough. Stress, anxiety, fear, doubt, all of this made worse by the cheaper diet of sugars & carbs & starches, while a healthier diet costs up to 60% more, adding to rising food costs that already marginalizing the middle class towards poverty. Rich people shop at Whole Foods & do not care how much food or gasoline costs. They will buy the best food & eat cleaner diets when informed with the scientific truth that not all calories are the same, that sugary carbs are toxic because they elevate blood glucose & cause insulin resistance, belly fat, weight gain, visceral fat to form around the organs. When blood sugar elevated, the triglycerides go up & sticky LDL clogs the vasculature, arteries & veins, reducing cardiovascular efficiency that makes people tired. The glucotoxicity of excess high blood sugars also toxic to the glial & neuron cells in the brain & part of the pathophysiology of demential, brain fog, forgetfulness, memory loss, cognitive decline, reduced ability to focus or complete tasks, reduce salience, reduced focus holding, it makes people lower functioning by poising their brain with sugar excess constantly.
Sugars make people hungry & fatter & makes people have to pee more. The body struggling to deal with the high blood sugar starts dumping extra sugar via the kidneys into the urine. This sometimes feeds bacterial imbalances that causer a urinary tract infection, a painful, irritating & annoying problem that can resolve on its own. If you are having a UTI, I suggest immediate stop eating sugar & carbs, try skipping a meal, drink more water until your pee is very light in color, a light "Straw" color or pale yellow, with less smell is ideal, indicating that you are well hydrated. Adding sugar free cranberry extract or concentrate or citric acid or other food acids to the water can help to kill the pathogenic bacteria in the urine. Water fasting for 24 hrs & up to 4 days perfectly safe for most adults over 26 years of age. If a younger person having a UTI, see a doctor at once for antibiotics or another solution. I became sick with Diabetes Type II & Hypertension & now have to take an ACE inhibitor & Metformin to deal with eating thousands of caramel, specially salted caramels that I find so delicious they might as well be an additive drug as a food. It seems like drugs, given the kind of cravings I have to eat caramels. I force myself to abstain, chastise myself as a glutton & shame myself away from eating, in order to skip meals. Every day is different in terms of the foods I eat, I embrace a metabolic confusion or random diet, in part to accommodate to living with my elderly disable mother who craves sugar sweet flavors more than me, more than anyone else I know. She is also Type II diabetic, and my lovely wife Meg has diabetes currently & take metformin too. I am glad to be on metformin, its actually a longevity or age reversal drug, one of the earliest ones, along with the NAD+ booster NMN which we also take daily. I take a multivitamin daily & drink a big glass of water first thing upon waking. I go for walks, and hike & ride my bicycle or Segway for exercises. Meg recently got roller skates for some fun activity. We try to stay moderately active, taking breaks for recovery days, for downtime & healing. I aim to get more higher quality sleep, to wake up early at the same time every day, to go to bed earlier. I am still working out my lifestyle. I recently started taking gymnema & collinsonia root extract at the funded suggestion of my brilliant genius surgeon cousin-in-law Blake, thank you by the way!
I do not have all the answers & everyone body different. You have to figure out a lifestyle & diet that works for you. I suggest using a body weight scale to keep track of how much you weight. If you notice that you are putting on extra weight, consider reducing carb & sugar consumption. Drink your coffee or tea black or neat, with nothing added. Abstain from beer & soda pop & candy, not always, just less often. Less can be more. Make those special sweet treats exactly that, special, not all the time, not every day, maybe once per week or a few times per month. Make that "birthday cake" a special thing, that you only eat on special holidays.
Big profit focused evil greedy companies, you can call companies that market unhealthy products to children (pedophiles) since they harm children! There are supposed to be all sorts of laws to protect children, but money placed as an idol above public health, not just in India, in America, Japan, China, Europe, South America, Australia, al around the world you see big powerful oil & gasoline & coal power companies, global pharmaceutical companies, global agrochemical, big alcohol, big tobacco, all sorts of big profitable globalized business seeking to take advantage of everyone. Their executives are friends, go to the same country clubs & expensive vacations spots. The big drug & big food & big agricultural company owners are friends, billionaires, who attend the same functions, the big talks, about how to pimp the world to exploit their position so that a tiny minority of people can benefit at everyone else's expense. Its a global plutocracy
