Some very thin fit models have a thigh gap, representing a small and perhaps shrinking percentage of the human population. Well in times of societal collapse, people with more body fat actually live longer without food, as in they are able to water fast, drinking only water and not eating anything for more days than a thinner fitter person with less body fat, since stored body fat is extra fuel for burning during fasting or times without any food access.

Not all thigh gaps are the same, consider the anorexic example right vs the healthy example left. "Athletic vs Thin" / with knees pressed together lightly, different kinds of gaps appear, though athletic with more leg muscle more realistic and less evidential of bulimia or body dysmorphic disorder, women or girls who starve themselves who look like the image to the right as result of nutritional deficiency, not enough protein to develop bone or muscles correctly, resulting in weakness thinner shape, but lack of strength and lower mental performance since the lack of protein consumed also negatively affects brain development.
Men associate this "thigh gap" with wider hips able to pass a child more easily during child birth, such that women with the "thigh gap" are viewed as genetic fitness examples of superlative DNA, when this is not factually accurate. People do not reproduce based on genetic science, they engage in physical sexual fluid exchange for social reasons and personal gratification that has little if anything to do with DNA fitness and much more to do with human mating rituals or social factors that influence mate selection.
As a result there is a lot of bad junk DNA that makes rare genetic disorders, as many people alive today suffer because their parents succumbed to lowered expectations, in other words chuds that reproduced with other chuds giving their children bad DNA that results in diseases and health problems. Chud a reference to a Chud-muffin person with a balloon like body shape of morbid obesity, low nutritional IQ, almost no physical fitness, bad personal hygiene, not very intelligent, not strong and with bad endurance who is a low quality example of a human being instead of an ideal form that is strong, fit, smart, with fantastic endurance, able to rise up in sporting competitions to win, superior examples of human fitness or ideals.
Hormones like Estrogen, Testosterone & Prolactin strongly influence body shape. In younger women fat tends to accumulate in the butt, thighs and breasts, but not in the waist. In younger men higher testosterone increases skeletal muscle development and faster metabolism, so men have less subcutaneous fat that makes women's skin look smoother and nicer.
Men that have too much estrogen develop belly fat around their mid-section and develop an apple body shape that they tend to dislike. There are men who have larger breasts than many women from being morbidly obese and eating UPF things that disrupt hormonal balance in the body. Many people today are sick with many kinds of diseases from hormonal disruption from common pollutants they are exposed to daily, especially in terms of artificial chemical food additives in so many UPF items sold on the isles and shelves of grocery stores and supermarkets in colorful bags and boxes with long complicated ingredients listed on the back of the graphically enhanced packaging, that is a UPF items and unhealthy or junk food.
Many air and water pollutants are hormone disrupting persistent organic pollutants that harm human health in the environment resistant to breaking down from heat and light and may be a major causal factor in male & female obesity increasing worldwide. This makes thinner fitter women stick out even more and fit strong tone men to stand out amongst their fluffy peers.
That might sound cold spirited, something that fat shaming results from, but I am just being objectively factual, some people are very unfit with bad DNA and other people are very fit with fantastic DNA. You can only go with what you got from your parents, but in many ways it's possible to optimize each person to obtain or exhibit the best of their potential mentally and physically. This is why education so important. This is also why people are stronger working as teams of people since each person brings different skills to the group.
These "fat" or "obesity" genetic traits enabled some people to store fat more efficiently than others, be that DNA or Epigenetic Factors, Gut Biome or whatever, people that find it very easy to gain body weight and become obese easily, actually have a genetic advantage that enabled those DNA traits in antiquity to survive longer, since the seasonless grocery store or supermarket of today is an extremely modern or new technology. During the hunter gatherer period of human history, people who could extract more of foods calorie energy and store it as body fat would survive the cold harsh food scarcity winter season more effectively.
Body shaming is a thinner fitter person who's probably eating a healthier balanced nutritionally dense diet that's more expensive and working out regularly, especially doing body sculpting exercises that burn fat in specific areas that ladies tend to value aesthetically in terms of look or body style, thought genetic factors mean there are many different body types, so some women with a "non ideal" body type can experience body shame issues that promogulated as mental emotional disturbance from not looking like the idealized female body with big eyes, a smaller waste, slim stomach showing muscles, slender arms and legs, and relatively smooth skin with voluptuous lips and breasts and plush butt cheeks, shown off brashly in bikinis that leave little to be imagined unlike the Burka of Islamic culture that covers a womans body with fabric leaving much to be imagined.
In Christian & Islamic commandments, woman are asked to dress with modesty, perhaps the opposite of a bikini or 2 pieced bathing suit, and much more like the Hijab, which covers most of a woman body with fabric to ambiguate their body shape, so men have less lustful temptation to look upon other mens wives and daughters with sexual fantasy thoughts, since in Islamic cultural theory we are as men "caged beasts" prone to every kind of sexual immorality or in Christian terms "lusts of the flesh"
I have repeatedly called out UPF manufactures that make and sell popular industrial junk food like Dorito chips or Oreo cookies for being conspirators in a deliberate disease causing epidemic of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, chronic inflammation, heart disease, strokes, clots, embolism, allergies, weight gain with aging, difficulty losing weight, inactivity, sedentary lifestyle sitting around too much and never raising heart rate or breathing rate enough with physical fitness to burn food carbohydrates that get stored as glycogen then body fat, such that added sugar to processed foods becomes increases in body fat for most people who eat UPF foods.
I personally ate so many Cocomels or non-dairy salted caramels via Amazon Prime that I ended up with urine that smelled like foul lemonade and a blood sugar level sky high of 369 when I first used one of my wife's older glucometers to measure my blood glucose level, as I had been experiencing high blood sugar related irritation, anger problems, joint pain, sleep sweats, constant thirst, memory fog and difficulties remembering new ideas or storing information in my brain, the uncontrolled high blood sugar was increasing my blood pressure and body fat levels, making me feel older and sicker faster. I immediately upon learning this in 2018 went to YouTube and Google searching "how to undo type 2 diabetes, how to lower blood glucose levels, how to undo diabetes, how to cure diabetes, how the human metabolism works and more.
To my sheer and utter amazement there were tons of different well-meaning doctors sharing factual information that is easy to understand in common basic language with graphics about factual nutrition to help others people and how all calories are not equal, roughly that sugar, starches and carbs are good food fuel for rapid activity like running, digging ditches manually, package delivery, marathons, long bicycle rides, mountain climbing hiking alpine steep trails, things that makes you breath so hard that it's hard to speak more than a few words without taking another breath.
I am talking about physical fitness like swimming that gets you heart rate elevated up to its target zone for working out, where you become hotter and sweaty, like I do when I VR Les Mills Body Combat Workouts or go hiking with Meg. These fitness activities are acute stresses that improve muscle strength, bone density, endurance, sleep quality, they make food taste better and sex more intense.
Being fit not just about looking your best it also makes you feel better and can effectively better than any medication improve mood and outlook, creating improved morale, improved thinking, improved emotions, its strengthens connective tissue and joints making us stay younger longer and actually helping some people undo the effects of an unhealthy diet combined with not moving enough or being sedentary, who start with walks after dinner for 10 minutes and work up to 4 hour marathons after years of dedicated personal improvement.
I am not going to put any visual examples of obesity, since the people reading this are likely in wealthy countries where an obesity epidemic unfolding with lots of real-world examples to examine or consider.
It takes a lot of dedication and work for some people to look physically fit, where its very easy for other people to look thin, but they lack the strength, endurance, bone structure or brain performance of people who regularly work out and have more bone density, more muscle, more brain, and more endurance, who stronger, smarter and faster.
A thin dumb person is also known as a flake or flaky, because they don't care about being fit or strong, they only care about not being fat, so they do anything to be thin, but consider nothing about health overall. A flake is usually superficial or vain or shallow or has a low-quality personality of surface appearance focus and cannot be in a deep long-term relationship or are not good marriage potentials. Such peoples place more value on appearances than anything else.
It's all about saving face literally, to look the part, even though nothing else is there. Such peoples remind me of a counterfeit Rolex, trying to look superior but with nothing that actually counts that makes something superior. A high-quality personality way more valuable long term when you grow old together as lovers and friends who die together in old age. What someone looks like tells you almost nothing, or what it tells you is that they are trying to obtain a certain look really hard while not investing in other areas of life that people actually value in relationships, like integrity, merit, honor, loyalty, or virtues.
