Keep AM Radio Around

During the upcoming global economy collapse, AM radio will be one of the only ways to get information. 

With FM radio stations offline, with the internet offline, with power grids blacked out, with the chaos that follows WWIII and the Market Economy Apocalypse MEA caused by the Solar CME or coronal mass ejection that knocks out power grids, power plants & electrical systems & consumer electronics worldwide, causing the internet or worldwide web outage to last 9months or more. 

AM radio will still work & be used for emergency communications.

AM radio signals travel much further than FM or frequency modulation signals. AM considered a gold standard de facto radio communication technology in RF or radio frequency communications. Many HAM or amateur radio enthusiasts know about how AM better than FM in terms of signal strength & signal propagation. AM works much better during natural disasters when the power goes out or when cell networks are down. Because much of the communications systems are now VOIP or voice over internet protocol, TCP-IP, etc, the CME electrical storm internet outage will knock out most other forms of communications, especially instantly bricking space satellites that are in the path of the CME.

During natural hazard and disaster fallout many people use their car's AM radio as the only way to get information. While its true that most people use streaming services like Pandora or Spotify or Satellite Radio, AM radio very important for preparedness & this important as topic since many automakers are nixing AM radios from their new cars & SUV's, especially Plug-In Hybrids & Electric Vehicles since the motor controller & electric traction motors can create interference noise in the AM radio bands making AM radios produce noisy signals with degraded audio quality that many people find annoying.
