With FM radio stations offline, with the internet offline, with power grids blacked out, with the chaos that follows WWIII and the Market Economy Apocalypse MEA caused by the Solar CME or coronal mass ejection that knocks out power grids, power plants & electrical systems & consumer electronics worldwide, causing the internet or worldwide web outage to last 9months or more.
AM radio will still work & be used for emergency communications.

Many HAM or amateur radio enthusiasts know about how AM better than FM in terms of signal strength & signal propagation. AM works much better during natural disasters when the power goes out or when cell networks are down. Because much of the communications systems are now VOIP or voice over internet protocol, TCP-IP, etc, the CME electrical storm internet outage will knock out most other forms of communications, especially instantly bricking space satellites that are in the path of the CME.
