Visonic S7 Cordless Stick Vacuum 30 Kpa | 480w peak BLDC motor | 7cell 2500mAh li-ion battery
I will post a review & comparison to our 2019 Moosoo with its 120w BLDC motor & 6 cell 1800 mAh battery pack thats faded significantly. We decided after tearing down the Moosoo for a deep clean, that a newer better unit would be a worthwhile upgrade & the old MooSoo now a car vacuum cleaner for our 05 & 10 Prii respectively :)
Citizen Eco-Drive Titanium H500 S021260 HST Battery MT621 Changed 12/30/2022
This ultra-low mass solar PV charged Lithium Magnesium Titanate MT621 battery powdered eco-drive quartz titanium chronograph by Citizen features light blue lume on the hands & hours, making it easy to read in the dark after the phosphorescent europium doped alumina glow powder charged up by the same light that produces DC current in the solar PV module under the dial that charges the battery to power the quartz H500 eco-drive movement by Citizen :)
Cardiovascular Exercise, Weight Training & Lifestyle Tuning
The benefits of regularly exercising are extensive on the body & mind, mental, emotional & physical health & wellness. Getting your heart rate up until your are covered in sweat, at least 150 min per week enough to stave off the deleterious effects of a sedentary lifestyle, especially when combined with a clean diet with enough water, healthy fats, quality proteins & fiber to enable good health, combined with interval fasting, metformin, NMN, lisinopril, my mix includes a single weak gin & tonic in the evening for enjoyment & a small boule of freshly baked break that I make from flour, water, salt & yeast daily in a dutch oven at 480 F or 270 C for 30 minutes with the lid on to steam the dough that I let rise at least 3x, stretching & folding the dough as I beat it down each time, to give strength to the dough so it can rise when baking in the oven.
Painted a Flipo MICRON 110 lumen COB Light "Poison Light" & Made COB Lens Glow-in-the-Dark
I was gifted a keychain light for Christmas 2022 & noticed it was made of ABS, at least the front & back shell parts. I looked up the product online using the paper instruction included in the box & learned about COB chip on board LED lighting technology. This 110 lumen flashlight operates on 4.5v from 3 super heavy-duty Zinc Chloride batteries included with it! I decided to custom paint it & upgrade it with glow power right away!
I removed the back case & then used my pocket knife to remove the front case, lens & button.
The inner shell made of dark grey plastic & houses the 3 AAA cells & nickel plated steel battery spring contacts, COB assembly on the LED driver circuit & spring-contact controller switch.
One click to full bright, another click to dim, one more click to strobe, a final click turns the unit off.
I bent some baling wire into a mount to hold the front & back case parts, using pliers & fitted the holder to the shell parts so that it could hold the parts even if the holder held upside down.
I then lightly sanded the ABS shell parts with 220 grit sand paper & wiped it down with acetone on paper towel & let them dry. I primed them with ABS primer, then painted them with "Montana Gold, NC ACRYLIC, Poison Light Poison pale ve ne mo claro CL6310".
After several very light coats from different angles, I let it cure overnight. The next mooring I used 220 grid to sand down imperfections & smooth out the finish. I quick wipe with a damp paper towel & dried. Then another few light coats of paint from several angles. I used different heating methods to boil the paint solvent away faster, then applied a polyurethane flat crystal clear KRYLON COLORMAXX protective finish from 3 angles as light coats. I then cured the finial layers by placing the mounted shells near a radiant oil filled space heater until the VOC emission rate radically reduced & the finish was hard enough to handle. Further heating to a near perfect cure level.
While the paint was drying, I took some Europium UltraGlow powder in a creased piece of paper & gently dusted the inside surface of the COB protective lens, then dripped 3 drops of TESTORS Glosscoate Top Coat lacquer optically clear bond the glow-in the dark powder. I moved the lens around to distribute the glow powder towards the outer edges of the rectangle, so the COB LED's near the center would be able to transmit better through the lens while also energizing the glow powder.
This means there is a 30+ hour after glow after the light is turned off. After the lens powder & gloss-coating was dry, I installed it upside down into the front case part, then dropped the button into place. I snapped the body containing the COB assembling, mid frame & batteries into the front cover. I then snapped the back cover onto the mid frame completing the assembly. I tested the light & its glow function & demoed it for my wife Meg :) She said it was a cool upgrade to the OEM state :)
Few people would do a 5 stage painting process for such a cheap device, but I enjoyed customizing mine with my favorite color, high performance glow-in-the-dark powder from United Nuclear. I enjoy customizing stuff. I recently added glow powder to 2 part epoxy & upgraded a Fenix E16 EDC flashlight with 4 glow in the dark accents near the light emission end to make it easier to find the flashlight in the dark.
This kind of sand, primer, paint, sand, paint, clear coat on ABS makes a durable chip resistant finish of near automotive quality that will hold up well over time. I call this an imperial upgrade because of the time & effort invested, something that transcends the value of the device, or even its function. It turns it into a work of art & that gives me a special spark of joy every time I interact with it, knowing that I put some of my heart & soul into it! It's now a reflection of me in a tiny way & also gives photon output to light the way on dark days ahead while I am still alive & not dead :) Cheers friends!
Meg was gifted one of these keychain lights too, & wanted me to improve it. I started by carefully taking it apart with a pocket knife, to remove the font cover, rear cover, button & lens cover.
Have a look at the Super Heavy Duty Zinc Chloride Batteries that came with the unit, obviously a Chinese device made in China given the batteries manufacturer & address.
I took some of the United Nuclear Europium UltraGlow Glow Powder & sprinkled it into the inside of the lens, then used a q-tip to move some of the powder out of the way of the COB chips, so they would still charge the powder when on while still allowing more light to exit the lens for general purpose illumination.
Using 150 grit & 220 grid sandpaper, it took me about 30 minutes of hand sanding actions to remove all the purple paint & to produce a flat white appearance in the ABS :) Much better
The sanded flat white appearance mades a nice combination with the purple inner fame border that appears as an accent color stripe on the finished unit :) Meg really likes it!
Sewing As a Man / A Healthy Hobby
Cultural norms for much of history made sewing the domain of women working inside the home while men pursued other industrial arts, though the textiles industry an industrial behemoth & mass produced fashion products are one of the leading sourcing of plastic pollution worldwide. I am getting into sewing as a man, as a hobby :)
Rye Bread / Dialing in the Recipe Ongoing :)
I have been making bread DIY from scratch at home lately, mainly using flour, water, salt & yeast in different ratios, cooked at 480 F or 270 C inside an enameled dutch oven with lid for 15-45 min. Lately I have been mixing rye flour with regular flour, adding caraway seeds & making rye bread DIY.
Human Memory A Mental Hall of Mirrors
New ideas, images, words, sounds, things, money, stuff, when your sensory organs take in these phenomena, even video or audio, the idea's thereby formed in the mind bounce around for up to 3 years before being fully integrated into your brain hardware as neuron plastic changes in the structure & function of the brain.
Non-scientific Drug Laws : Incoherent Inconsistency Applied in Law
Chocolate is a psychoactive substance, as are green tea, coffee, beer, wine & spirits or alcohol. So it's ok for School Bus Drivers to make use of these substances that are mind altering, but they cannot have any THC in their system, even though many states have legalized it. So let's say a doctor or school bus driver is on an extended vacation for 14 days & eats an edible on the first or second day. Does this mean the bus driver is still under the influence of THC some 10+ days layer when it can still be detected on a urine analysis? I was even told not to eat poppy seed muffins or any baked goods containing poppy seeds since they could trigger a false positive for opioid use. When will the science & law align at the federal level? Here in Washington State where I live, magic mushrooms are up next for decriminalization & legalization for adults over the age of 21 to legally purchase.
Bread Making Learning Applied
I am at #9 today, my ninth home made boule loaf made with flour, salt, water & yeast! Poolish was the key to making it exceptional, along with some pomegranate juice! Let me explain!
I make poolish way ahead of actually baking the bread, 4-24 hours ahead of time. To make it, you mix 3/4 cup of flour with 2/3 cup water & a pinch of yeast ~1 gram or less, in a bowl, then use a fork to mix it up. I added a tablespoon of freshly pressed pomegranate juice to act as a dough strengthener via organic acids in the juice. #9 today contains lemon juice for a similar reason.
Cover the poolish mix for 4+ hours in a warm zone around 80 F if possible. At colder room temperature you can leave it for 16-24 hours or more. During this time the pinch of yeast that you added will have doubled its population repeatedly, thus fermenting your wet poolish mix, causing it to rise in the bowl.
Add 3/4 cup more flour to this mix & 1/4 tsp salt, then blend into a shaggy dough. Cover the shaggy dough & let it rise for 1 hour.
After an hour your shaggy dough should have risen & its time to due the French stretch & fold method at least 2x to each edge. This helps to tangle the gluten so that your loaf can bake up a more vertical boule.
Place your dough onto a lightly floured piece of parchment paper that will allow you to drop it into the hot dutch oven. Let the dough rise for another 30-60 minutes on that parchment paper.
Preheat the oven to 480 F or 270 C and place your dutch oven with lid into the oven for 20+ minute to get everything up to full temperature.
Using heat resistant gloves, remove the fully hot dutch oven & set it on a heat resistant surface. Remove the lid being careful because it's also fully hot & set it down.
With gloves off, take the dough that's risen on the parchment paper & carefully lower it into the dutch oven. Then put your heat protective gloves back on & restore the hot lid to the dutch oven & then load the loaded dutch oven into the oven for 30 minutes of baking. If you want a darker crust, leave the dutch oven in the oven & only remove the lid, then lower the oven temperature 25-50 deg F, and let the bread bake for another 10-20 min, watching with the oven light on to determine when it reaches the correct level or darkness you are aiming for. This crust darkening will crisp the crust more & generate more interesting flavors in the crust.
You can remove it after 30 minutes & let the entire assembly cool for 10 more minutes. Take the lid off & you're ready to extract the load for further cooling on a wood cutting board or wire rack, it's going to be hotter than boiling water at this point.
After 30 min of cooling the temp should have decline to 140 F or 60 C, and during the cooling time moisture in the center of the real bread will have migrated to the crust, evening out the water level. At this time it a good time to slice the bread with a serrated knife & enjoy with olive oil & balsamic vinegar, jam, butter or whatever you like to spread on bread for enjoyment :) peanut butter & honey one of personal favorites :) I like Nutella too! Bread & butter are excellent, as are dipping bread into a mix of olive oil & balsamic vinegar.
Bread Revision a Work in Progress #2 Late 2022 (Updated #3 was a hit :)
Today Sunday Dec 4th, 2022 I made home made bread a second time, with a variation on the recipe as follows. Its only OK & this to document what happened!
Making Bread Saturday Dec 3rd 2022
I love home baked bread cooked in a dutch oven inside an oven at 420 F for 30 min so it develops a nice flavorful crusty crust.
To enjoy it, I slice it, mix aged basaltic vinegar with cold expelled extra virgin olive oil & dip the bread into this mix or enjoy the bread with salted butter.
